The stay started off great. I called them ahead of time and they kindly confirmed we could check-in early which was really appreciated. When we arrived I thought the site was beautiful and we had a great spot overlooking the fields.

The WiFi didn’t reach us but we could hot spot on our phones just fine. The site was pretty muddy and the bathrooms we’re clean etc… but then there was very heavy rainfall and we woke up in the morning to find that we had be flooded. It was very stressful. One of the owners drove past and asked if we were leaving as my husband was desperately trying to pack down. We told him we had no choice as the water was rising fast and now knee high deep.He drove off and choose not to help us get out safely to a dry spot. We were lucky we could tow ourselves out. We informed them we would be interested in moving sites and they said they would have to get back to us even though the drier sites near the hill were available!! We decided to leave after no one reached out and stayed at a campground 30 miles down the road. 12 hours later we received a phone call asking us if we had left and if we wanted a to re-schedule the stay. We said no and he offered us a refund on the remaining nights and would call us the next day when he had wrote the check… well we didn’t hear back so took it upon ourselves to drive back there and got him to write a check in person.

I understand the flooding wasn’t there fault but the whole situation was handled terribly!!

Great little camp spot along the Katy trail if you’re looking to hop on your bike and head out to the wineries. It doesn’t get much better than this place for doing just that. The campground is newer so shade is limited but sites 2-9 do back up directly to the trail and have some decent shade. Bathrooms were nice and clean and wood and ice are easy to grab at a reasonable price.

I am giving a five star review because of location location location. The campground is right next to the Katy Trail, and also has an amazing brewery/restaurant right next door. Within walking distance there is also a few bars, an adorable general store with ice cream and a bike rental shop. And let’s not forget about all the wineries nearby! Many of them are accessible via the Katy trail. Which is why we came. We biked to as many as we could and had so much fun!

I personally love the picturesque view of the corn field and hills and the sunset was beautiful. The park itself is new so of course the trees have not matured yet so shade is limited. Bring an extra pop up canopy tent if u are worried. We got site #4 which borders the Katy trail and there is shade under the trees at the end of the site (see photo) My ONLY complaint is I wish the hook ups were a little further back so we could back our trailer a little more. But maybe there is a reason behind that. The bathrooms were new and clean. Our campsite was the most level we have ever had. The camp host and maintenance man were in the office. They did not price gauge on ice and wood and it was available 24/7.

We will definitely be back! Loved it.
