We're located in the heart of beautiful Waupaca County near Manawa, Wisconsin on 26 acres of 170 year old towering pines.
We have a full banquet hall for your Wedding, Class Reunion
or any event you need a hall for!
It's a decent camp ground I suppose. If you are the type of person that likes any sort of seclusion this absolutely IS NOT for you. The campsites I butted up one next to the other. Electric sites share hook ups. And people seem to just walk through eachothers sites.
Not if you are a social butterfly this might be a great place for you. It has a playground for kids. A beach and a bar & grill.
Just wasn't for me.
Fun time. Site was great. Fresh veggies and fruit from 9-1 on Saturdays was a nice surprise we didn't know about. Some things may need updating, but overall it was great.
First I’d like to state that I was a huge fan of this campground with the previous owners. This last year I tried booking a campsite for my daughter’s birthday in September and by August I hadn’t received any notification saying anything about my upcoming stay. So I called the campground to see if I had made a reservation, after being told no I booked a site. Fast forward to check in, the lady at the desk had told me I had 2 sites booked. I was pretty upset because I called in August to make sure this didn’t happen. The owner then refused to refund me 1 of the sites ( let’s be real this isn’t a “ cheap” campground by any means) I then Asked if I could just move the reservation to next year and was again told no. Then the following night we had plans to take everyone to the bar that is onsite for pizza for my daughters birthday. When we walked in we were greeted by some pretty rude staff saying the kitchen was closed due to a banquet, there was nothing posted, no signs anywhere at the bar, camp store or on the website to inform the campground . I’d like to state that I did in fact reach out after our stay hoping the owners would re consider refunding me extra site and they just ignored me.
It's a little too obnoxious to camp here another year. They play very loud music sometimes, often until 2 am.
When you're in downtown Manawa you can hear it as if it's 30 feet away but you're actually 2-3 miles away. It's probably bouncing off the lake I'd imagine.
I don't really like adding to a nuisance or having to sleep inside of one when I'm on vacation. If they make more of an effort to be considerate to their guests and their neighbors I'd reconsider. Repositioning their equipment so sound doesn't go across the whole campground would be a good start.
This was our second time camping here. We had a blast lounging all day on the lake. We rented a pedal pontoon and I taught my daughter how to fish. They had a band come in on Saturday night…very entertaining! The dog area on the lake was not very nice but the campground is clean, family friendly and fun. Bear lake will definitely be on our “go to” spots for years to come.
