Our experience overall was ok. It wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t over the top great either. We stayed on a Sunday - Wednesday, so it wasn’t busy, which is what we were going for.

Pros:

As tent campers, we very much appreciated the update, clean bathroom super close to our site.

The gentleman running the chippy express was soooo fun! I don’t remember his name, but he mentioned he was a retired police officer, and you could tell he truly enjoyed what he was doing.

The woman running the fancy coffee shop was super nice and truly enjoyed engaging in some conversation.

The kids loved the beach area, and I appreciated how clean it was. The Wibit was a ton of fun for them.

The proximity of the playgrounds to our campsite was a bonus too

Cons:

Quiet time is clearly not enforced as our first night was miserable. We had an obnoxiously rude group behind us (also tenting). They BLARED very obscene music until at least 2 am; they were clearly drunk and beligerent. They also brought a dog who would panic and bark like crazy every time one of them drunkenly shouted something out. If they hadn’t left the next day, we probably would have left then. When we mentioned something about it the next morning inside the store, all we got was an “Oh wow!”

It’s super annoying nothing is listed about coin operated showers. So, since we didn’t have cash, we had to pay an ATM fee to get cash, and then use the change machine in the arcade.

Speaking of the arcade, it’s not one. If you’re banking on it on a bad weather day, don’t.

The mini-golf area was ok. Kids had fun, but it was expensive for such a small, kinda run down course.

The pool/waterpark area was freezing. I did appreciate that the pool area was kept clean! No gross bandaids in the water or garbage laying around. I did not appreciate the amount of people vaping in the pool area.

Overall, my two biggest gripes were:

1) SAND. There is sand EVERYWHERE. While I get it is probably an economical way to make the play areas safer, as a tent camper, it’s obnoxious. Mostly because there are not any feet sprayers anywhere. Most public/private beaches, for example, have little foot spray stations to clean the sand off your feet. With the amount of sand everywhere here, you think they would put one in at each activity area. Instead, you have to pay $.50 to shower off your feet a few times a day. Additionally, the sand was just gross. It seems like it hadn’t been raked through or cleaned, so there was a lot of garbage in it, especially by the jumping pillow and at the individual tent camp sites.

2) People just weren’t very friendly. The workers in the store were….ok 🤷‍♀️ They just didn’t seem very happy or welcoming. I would say the same about the seasonal campers. They zoom all over on their golf carts, and again, it seems like Midwest nice just doesn’t exist here. I know you can’t control the way guests appear, but it just wasn’t a very happy/fun vibe.

I will say, our kids had fun. And, in the end, that’s what it was all about. It wasn’t a bad experience, but it also wasn’t one that would have us running back right away either.

Overall experience poor for adults, fine for children.

Pros:

1. Pool area very nice and enjoyed being there, beer priced good and enjoyed the availability. Coolers ok in the main area

2. Children enjoyed the entire park but they don't see what adults have to pay for

3. Restrooms clean and most of the park well kept

Cons:

1. Staff not well trained or not trained AT all in real CUSTOMER SERVICE. Much improvement needed here! We had a problem with mud at our site and all we recieved for answers was "We Can't do anything for you" and "No" we can't help you. It was amazing to see the Bobcat pull up with traffic bond later that day to fix the problem. I would go into more detail but it would not be worth it at this point. I wrote an email about this to the site, no response whatsoever. Again, customer service non existent as far as I'm concerned, all they girls in the store want to do is argue with you. I told them their solution was "Unacceptable" they said I could pack up an leave. Believe me if the Grandchildren had not been with us, I would have demanded my money back at that point and left on the spot.

2. You are nickeled and dimed to death, fire wood over priced, pay for the showers, pay for this pay for that, extra money to have a guaranteed site. They outline the award they have won, not from this customer

3. As a first time customer, I was directed incorrectly to the wrong area of the facility. With a 32 foot rig, it was difficult to get out of where I was told to go to get to the right location. I was actually helped by a fellow camper, not the people that work for the facility

4. Mini golf a joke, expensive and not well maintained or well designed. My opinion, a complete waste of money. Don't do it.

The "Cons" out weight the "Pros" in this case. I've also read a great deal of the reviews. These folks are not interested in really making sure their customers have a good time. They just want you to pay for everything and expect you to put up with facilities that are in need of a lot of attention. The camp sites are cramped and you will get to know your neighbor very quickly, place is noisy until late in the evening and overall this is a poor type of camping for my wife and I. We will not return.

Final thoughts, place need to put a lot of time into training people how to deal with problems properly and provide customer service properly. They are in the hospitality business but have no clue what that really means.

My family of 4 stayed at the Blue Lagoon cottage for 3 nights. It's a brand new cottage so it's impossible to find pictures. Unfortunately, I didn't think to take pics *before* we brought our stuff in, but you'll get the idea.

Pros:

-It's listed as 1 bath but it has 2 full baths.

-Lots of space!

-Semi-private since it's just outside of the main entrance to the grounds.

-Everything is very new.

-Fully stocked kitchen.

-Located on a small lagoon.

Cons:

-Lower level is so spacious but there's no TV. Would've been great to be able to send the kids down there.

-Lower level bathroom could really use another towel rack for the hand towel. Plenty of room for one.

-Lower level sliding door to outside did not lock. We reported it at checkout.

-The beds are Full not Queen size.

-No grilling tools provided with the grill.

-In one photo you'll see that a sharp corner of the bed frame protrudes, leaving one child with a fairly large leg wound.

As for the campground, it was clean. The beach was nice but there aren't many chairs so you'll want to bring your own. The pool area was entirely too small. Not fun at all since it was so packed full. The adult 21+ pool was quite nice. The Chippy Lodge seemed well stocked & everyone was friendly. The mini golf area appeared to be very small.

All in all I'd call it a good experience.

We have just returned from our first visit to Evergreen and it's definitely a keeper on our list and we have been camping for over 20 years and have been to many different campgrounds. We had a large group with many different needs and they checked all the boxes for our large group. We had two RV sites which were fine. We had family rent Poolside Cottage 1, Sunset Cottage, a newer Chippy Bungalow, and the Caboose and everyone loved their site. All were clean and ready to be enjoyed! The staff was very nice in all the different areas. They even let us walk through some of the other cottages while they were cleaning for the next group. The beach was extremely clean and nice for the kids. A little wash your feet area would be nice as you leave the beach. The pool had lots of nice clean areas and options for kids. The adult bar was also nice and warm. The restrooms were very nice but wish there was more showers in the nice restrooms. The fact that showers have quarter machines is a little crazy. The mini golf looked nice but I wouldn't pay almost $5 per person to play it. We hope to make it back, I research campgrounds all over Wisconsin for this family camping weekend and this campground is going to be hard to top!
