It's not a long hike, but the view at the top of White Rock is 360° of sheer amazingness.
If you are in the Highlands NC area, this hike is a must. OK for new hikers, and the view is magnificent !
Love watching the clouds to change forms right above our heads and watching the projection of the sun beams and clouds move beneath us. Amazing experience with a fantastically unobstructed view. Would come back to visit again.
Magnificent, I camped on Jones Knob, beautiful sunset, starscape more brilliant than I have ever seen. The misty valleys in The morning were a view beholden.
I've been hiking and camping on and around Whiterock Mountain for decades. I first experienced the place in the mid 80's. It's is a beautiful and serene area. It's my go-to place when I need to get away and recharge. The views are spectacular any time of day or night. Be careful if you get close to the edge. It's a long way down. If camping I'd consider a can of bear spray. I've never had a problem with them but they are there. I can't say enough good things about the Mountain and the Rangers. You definitely will not be disappointed.
