I came into town to go to another RV park that was less than desirable. I saw the Bay River sign and went to check it out. It was by far a nicer RV campground. The owner and his family went out of their way to make sure my party and I were safe and sound and had everything we needed. Being a woman this was very important to me. I am now family and will be back to visit
The owners are extremely friendly and as a person who has grown up here I can tell you they are VERY knowledgable about the features of the local communities. They even cued me into a very profitable fishing hole I never knew about despite living six miles away my whole life and fishing my whole life.
The camp area is beautiful for RVs and tent campers alike even offering secluded spots where those of us who prefer the "roughing it" experience won't have to look at the RV's if we don't want to.
In addition to this the hosts were VERY accomidating even offering to put my friend and I up in an RV if heavy rain threatened our experience in our tent.
You couldn't ask for nicer people to provide you hospitality for you and your family.
The host family (owners) are the KINDEST & SWEETEST People we have ever met. We found ourselves in a desperate need for an RV spot for a few days so that we could run our air conditioning for our dogs that were suffering in the heat. We saw the Bay River Campground sign and called right away. They went the extra mile to make sure we not only got a spot but made sure we were in the shade and WOW what a beautiful spacious spot it was. We felt Safe and Secure there. The whole family makes you feel welcome and stops by to see if you need anything. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND you check out and stay a couple days at Bay River Campground.
I found the campground to be pleasant. While there were few amenities, their hospitality more than made up for that. Their son helped me set up my tent. I had brought a few water melons to enjoy while on vacation. They shared their BBQ chicken and I shared my water melons. Other campers joined the fun and brought other items.
My boat broke down and they were willing to come to the rescue. Some of the campers met me at the landing and helped me get the boat out of the water.
It was extremely quiet and easily got rest while in the tent.
A friend and I were recently kayak fishing at the coast and decided to stop by Bay River Campground on our last morning, to use their ramp so that we could fish the area around the campground. We fished till early afternoon, then took a shower to tame the fish smell before heading out for the 5 hour ride home. Frank and Rachel were as friendly and accommodating as ever. Even though we needed to get on the road we wanted to check out the new tackle shop (small, but well stocked with inshore fishing supplies and bait) and visit with the 2 of them for a little while, we ended up staying the better part of an hour. Looking forward to the next time I get a chance to see them again.
