I will not be staying here again. Emerald Isle is wonderful but this campground is not! The sites are tiny, bath houses are falling apart and there is no soap in them to wash your hands. The owners, managers, and most permanent site residents of the campground are some of the rudest people I've ever met in my life. Don't plan on renting a golf cart either, they don't allow it. But the owners do have their personal golf cart. The only good thing I can say was the campground was clean for the most part and not a trashy place. We will be coming back to Emerald Isle, but never Camp Ocean Forrest! We stayed there eight days and they are very pricy for what you get.

It has been a wonderful experience.

So much so that we have leased a permanent lot for our camper. Everyone here has made my wife and I feel like family. And we now have a second home ,right by the beach and Bogue inlet peir .

Camp Ocean Dog Crap is a more appropriate name for this dump. Apparently this is the only camp ground that allows pets. Everywhere you look people are walking dogs and allowing them to dump anywhere!!! I have never seen anything like it!! On camp sites, in yards, on the sand, it simply does not matter! The dog dumps and the owners leave it there for people to step in or for others to pick up. The air even smells like dog poop. The campground is attached to permanent spots, some trailers and some campers. They are the rudest calibration of people I've ever encountered. You can tell they do not like weekenders. I heard two fights while I stayed there for three nights, they stumble around highly intoxicated all day and all through the night. Obviously there is no homeowner bi-laws for the permanent residents. Most of the trailers are old but well kept but the campers and people next to the temporary spots (at the end of Jeff st according to the lady in the office) are just gross and rude. The location is amazing, however. You can walk everywhere, beach, pier, shopping restaurants....which is a good thing because the owner doesn't allow golf carts on the property...but he has one and the city allows them pretty much everywhere... The bathhouses are horrendous, old and dirty. Plan on using your RV facilities. The spots are extremely small and your neighbors waste hook up is right at your door. There is no playground, pool, game room, ect for kids to play but as I said the location is great. No grilling areas or grills are attached to the spots. This could be the perfect spot to vacation if management would put in a small effort and enforced some rules...especially the dog walking issue. Needless to say I will not be back.

We stayed here a couple of years ago. It's a great location by the pier. We camped across from a man who is a permanent resident there and he made us feel at home. He shared his property, his hammock and deck and his lawn games with us! Yes the bathrooms need an update but this is not Holiday Inn. This is camping and we had a GREAT time there.
