Found this great little campground outside of Saratoga Springs!!! So cute and QUIET!!! Loved it!! Wished I had known there was so much to do in the area, we would have stayed longer!! We'll definitely be back!!! The park was so clean and well kept up. I didn't use the bathrooms but checked them out anyway. They were SPOTLESS!!! With coin operated shower stalls which were very clean and laundry facilities that were also!! They had a pool, too!! With a big rig, it was a little tight driving through, but I'll do it again when I come back through the area!! I LOVED this park!!

Please be aware of terrible customer service and shady business practices. Recommend looking elsewhere. Details below.

Submitted an inquiry about a stay for this weekend - which had a 25% non-refundable deposit (campsite was only $44 so i thought i would maybe lose $11 on the deposit.) When our plans changed 2 hours later, I reached out and they said that it was a 100% non-refundable deposit. When I tried to connect with the campground, they were not interested in following their policy and wanted to keep the full deposit. They were more interested in touting their own legal prowess than providing a partial refund to someone booking a family camping trip. The dispute is for $33 - so not a huge deal. But, if this is how they treat customers, I'd rather do business elsewhere and assume you would as well.

Site assigned was too small for unit, not even adequate for a pop up, possibly a tent site, unsafely banked, unlevel, exposed large tree roots, trip hazard exiting unit.

Permanent site across from ours looked like a permanent garage sale set up, a mess.

Left immediately when given no options. Not worth the hassle and time for refund. Learned a lesson, pay more attention to reviews. Posts from 2 years ago haven't changed what we experienced.

Go to Alpine Lake RV Resort.

Please read the owners response and others posted from other reviews, points raised as concerns by customers are always countered with excuses, nothing dramatic here.

I camped solo at Whispering Pines for a weekend in mid-September and I will certainly be back next summer.

It's close enough to the attractions to only be a 15 minute ride to most places, including SPAC, while far enough away to feel remote.

Check in was easy, I got a great, flat site with trees all around, perfect for tarp hanging and privacy.

Bathrooms near my site were clean and had showers and a laundry facility! Water was warm.

They have a pool, which was clean, and a little basketball hoop. There's also a camp store and a little popcorn snack stand. (Popcorn snack stand wasn't open when I arrived.)

If you are camping, ignore all the 1 star reviews. Those are all from RVers.

This is a real campground, not a big flat RV park field. This isn't a luxury RV resort, it's a campground that allows both tents and RVs

I could see why folks with RVs would be frustrated at driving over the dirt roads.

If you are an avid tent camper, this place is amazing. It's clean with facilities that aren't full of bugs. Theres a pool and a place to do laundry.

Shower water is warm, and bathrooms are clean, pool is clean. Check in was easy, check out easy.

Nobody bothered me the whole time. Super duper quiet.

I suppose it depends what you want, but for me, Whispering Pines was awesome.

I will definitely stay again.

Do yourself a favor, and camp elsewhere. If I could give zero stars, I would.

The road are extremely narrow, and many of the campsites are extremely difficult to back into.

Other sites (like the one my wife and I stayed at) have the fire ring an absurd distance away. As other reviews have stated, don’t even think about moving the fire ring, or you will be charged $50.

Hopefully if you decide to stay here, you enjoy cold showers, because the only shower facility at the campground costs 50¢ for 4 minutes of water. The label on the machine claims that the shower “allows for time for the water to heat up”, however, the water was absolutely anything but warm. (Yes, I had the shower turned all the way to hot) I also timed the shower run time at 4 minutes, and 30 seconds.

There was nobody in the office at any time we were on the property. As per the website, the office is open from 1pm to 4pm. We never saw anyone there, and every time my wife and I went to the office, the lights were off and the door was locked. Luckily, there was a gas station 10 minutes away where we were able to purchase our ice and firewood.

Speaking of firewood, the owners claim that you are only allowed to buy their firewood, or firewood that has been kiln dried. With that being said, many of the seasonal campers at the campground have piles of firewood that was clearly neither purchased at the office, or kiln dried.

The only positive thing about this place is that it was quiet.

Finally, if you have read other reviews of this place, I’m sure that you have noticed the replies from the owner on many reviews. Extremely unprofessional, and a very poor practice.

((Response to owner))

You are incorrect. We stayed on site 7,from July 26-28 so what you are CLAIMING occurred, is completely fabricated and did not happen.

You are correct, you charge $25 to move the fire ring, and then another $25 to build a fire outside of a designated area. Whatever.

Your showers have 200 gallons of hot water. Congratulations. Doesn’t explain why it was freezing cold when i was the only one in the facility at an off time.

Office hours: nope, on your website it states (after a lengthy search) that those are your office hours. That is what your website says sir. Not a “blog post”. Your lights WERE off, and your office was NOT open for a 6 hour period any of they days we were there.

Firewood: I wish I could have gotten my pictures to post, but the majority of your seasonal camper’s absolutely do not have a pile of kiln dried wood.

I never claimed I could not get into the site, my concern was the low hanging power line.

Finally: We were never “spoken to” or “threatened eviction” by security. Matter of fact, the only time I ever spoke with someone from your staff was when we checked in. (And even then, it still wasn’t anyone in the office, someone was standing on the side of the road and spoke to us as we pulled in). It’s also interesting that your security, (who we never spoke with) alleges that I was “highly intoxicated”, awfully hard to do, as I do not drink. It is also interesting that you claim I was at the track, as we were In town to visit family with our new daughter. My family and I were camping alone and did not have anyone that we knew camping next to us.

We were never evicted, or threatened with such. Either your response is fabricated, or you have the complete wrong people.
