Beautiful park, nice sties. They are definitely are focused on primitive camping, very few rv sites, no water hookups. Bathrooms are good and clean, but hot water is lacking in demanding times. Lots of good site seeing around.
Amazing campground between Lake George and Lake Placid, very friendly staff, you can check in till 9 o'clock pm (at other campgrounds the office closes at 6pm)the campground is very clean, with clean and nice bathrooms and showers. Sites are big and we had privacy from other people. We would definitely go back.
Last minute trip north on the motorcycles & decided to see what this campground was like. Very friendly and welcoming staff at the gate and a smooth walk in / check in process. All of the sites are large, clean, level and well maintained. The firm, level gravel base was perfect for the motorcycles. No chance of sinking in mud or struggling to find a safe parking angle. A large, sand base tent pad was comfortable and dry. (Even with all of the rain we’ve had this summer!) Some of the new vegetation between sites is still growing, but there is plenty of space between sites. Bathrooms were clean and … graffiti FREE!! There is a well maintained, accessible path around the campground with several spots & picnic tables available to enjoy the Schroon River. The Ranger was very friendly & knowledgeable, and interested in any feedback re motorcycle camping at their facility.
My new favorite DEC campground to stay at! Stayed one night here and instantly fell in love with the atmosphere, architecture and layout of the campground. It's brand new and has the newest amenities. Super clean facilities and restrooms, very spacious (wish there was more shaded tent sites though!) and quiet and peaceful.
I felt like I was camping out in Montana or the wild west, they sure did an awesome job replicating Frontier Town's vibe and matching the style of the former theme park.
