Bridgeport State Park has 20 water and electric sites, dump station, 2 restrooms (both ADA) and 2 showers. Maximum site length is 45 feet (may have limited availability). The campground is situated on a lawn with many shade trees.
From Bridgeport: Drive north on Highway 17 for .5 mile. After crossing the Columbia River, turn right at the park sign. Continue approximately two miles to park entrance. From Wenatchee: Drive north on Highway 97, then proceed south on Highway 17 for eight miles. Turn at the park sign and continue approximately two miles to park entrance.
A quiet park with ample space between sites. Not much to do out here. The nearby town of Bridgeport doesn’t have much to offer and the park beach is covered in goose poop. It’s still a nice, quiet state park.
We drove around and checked the park out and it was beautiful. Very quiet. It is best to make reservations because it was full. There was signs up to watch for rattlesnakes. It has a great boat ramp and lots of space for parking. I would have no problems staying here to camp for a few days.
Nice campground right by Chief Wells Dam. Good bathrooms, small play area with swimming access and a boat launch.
This park is easy to find, near Chief Joseph Dam not far from Hwy 17 near the town of Bridgeport. It is right beside a golf course and is on the shore of Rufus Woods Lake that is part of the Columbia River. There is a large parking area near the boat launch with lots of room for boat trailers and trucks. The area is hot and dry in summer but there are some nice big trees for shade and irrigated grass. Nice playground, beach with grass, sand, gravel and rocks. Interesting rock formations called “Haystacks” are found all around the park. The showers require to quarters 50 cents for 3 min. The sites are level but there is no privacy due to a lack of bushes or undergrowth. All the sites a located well back from the water front with no lakeside or view sites. Just green grass, pavement and gravel under the scattered trees. Sites have either no services or power & water. Dump station available at campground. This is a nice quiet park.
Now this is a wonderful, peaceful park! The lawn is excellent, the views of the Columbia River are nice, and there's no busy road for miles. Nice and quiet here. Site 13 must be one of the best sites to camp in. The back of the site leads out to a great overlook of the river and there's two trees that make for the perfect spot to setup a hammock. We camped here for two nights and loved it. The stars look amazing from here!
