This park is easy to find, near Chief Joseph Dam not far from Hwy 17 near the town of Bridgeport. It is right beside a golf course and is on the shore of Rufus Woods Lake that is part of the Columbia River. There is a large parking area near the boat launch with lots of room for boat trailers and trucks. The area is hot and dry in summer but there are some nice big trees for shade and irrigated grass. Nice playground, beach with grass, sand, gravel and rocks. Interesting rock formations called “Haystacks” are found all around the park. The showers require to quarters 50 cents for 3 min. The sites are level but there is no privacy due to a lack of bushes or undergrowth. All the sites a located well back from the water front with no lakeside or view sites. Just green grass, pavement and gravel under the scattered trees. Sites have either no services or power & water. Dump station available at campground. This is a nice quiet park.
