We stayed this past weekend to celebrate my son's birthday. I cannot say enough good stuff about everything the room was perfect for celebrating my son and the staff AMAZING! My dad took a pretty bad fall and they were there within minutes very Johnny on the spot. I also recommend going on the rodeo weekends we may not have made it to the rodeo due to the unexpected hospital trip but they all came to our lodge checking on dad with genuine concern and care. I could not possibly be more impressed with everything about this park! We will be back hopefully our 2nd visit will be a tad less eventful. But I know without a doubt I will be back and will recommend it to anyone and everyone! Thank you guys so much for everything!
I've been going here a long time and we always stay in the cabins and I think they've gotten a definite improvement. The dorm rooms are big and have a ton of space and are pretty clean and well set up when you get there (at least in my experience). There are some bugs but that's to be expected. There fridge is larger than I expected and they have a big tv, though we did have an issue where the remote wasn't in the room and the wifi wasn't working so we weren't able to use it. One of the sinks in the bathroom leaked but it was there were two so it was no big deal. Our door also didn't lock for the most part and once when it did, we actually had to put in the code like 5 times just to open it even though we were putting in the correct code. Nobody was in the building we were and no one bothered us at all but the door not locking was definitely a bit concerning. The rooms are beautiful though and it's definitely worth the stay. The water is freezing but a ton of fun. There's one slide that actually hurts to go down but for the most part it's all fun. Overall it's a great time!
It's been 15 or 18 years since I visited Vortex Springs, and everything is as I remember except for the improvements. The campground has expanded as has the swimming and play area. There are more slides and other things. We only came for a morning dive to check our equipment. The cavern and swim-throughs haven't changed. The folks in the dive shop are professional and efficient. The rental tanks and wetsuit are in good shape. The best part is that the prices have not skyrocketed. I wasn't expecting to find wild animals (see 📸), but I'll bet they make it easier to keep the overgrowth tame.
Loved the people running it. They were helpful and friendly. They are working on the place (bathroom near the campsites) but made sure we had another close place to go. I'm loving the openness yet closeness we had. The facilities are great to me. Wish I could have stayed longer... See y'all next year for this wonderful convention I hope.
Super cool if you've never dived in a spring. Sixty plus feet deep in areas. The water is a constant 68 degrees.
