Five day stay at RV Park. Packed in very tightly. I believe large rigs will have a challenge navigating in/out of their space. Cars partially blocked the road due to space limitations. Full hookups including cable TV. They have Wifi, but the "best" I ever got was one bar. I have Verizon cell and it was also bad, one bar at best. Men's shower's not the cleanest, one was even missing it's door. Only used once due to cleanliness, used my RV after that. Tried to rinse off my kayak at Marina but boat hoses were either busted or inoperable. Ended up using hose from fish washing station, but was soaked from leaking hose/spray handle. Location is great. A 1.1 mile kayak paddle to Crab Island. With a little more attention to maintaining things like bathroom cleanliness, replacing busted hoses at Marina, and a usable wifi, this place could be outstanding.

On the road again, with a 2 night stop exploring the Ft Walton Beach area .... Yikes! Here's another Military Campground being trashed by MWR. I actually called to see if I could arrive early..... Not to be. Apon arrival, I tried checking in about 1 1/2 hours early. Lucky Me! My assigned site was empty and was told to come back in an hour or so .... Strange I thought, I was given instructions to exit the recreational property only to have damaged my coach from overhead branches and very tight roads with turns as my $350,000 coach jumped a curb finding my way out...... Apon returning, I was assigned to site 2117...... OMG..... $60 a night for a site filled with sand, not even close to being level and with a slope of at least 10 degrees. Not to mention my site was sitting on top of the site on either side. Only thing left was to find a place to park my toad..... Enough said about the cracker box site. The front office staff was clueless in understanding the spirit of their duties taking care of military members..... They should be fired! One final note about this Army recreational area in general. The grounds landscaping was a Field of weeds.... Run Down...... Thanks MWR for ruining another Military Campground into the ground.

Note: The most expensive military campground Nationwide.

Well safe travels to all! Heading down the road reviewing another Military Campground along the way.

Cheers!

Had a really great time here this past week. So quiet in the off season, beautiful grounds that are well kept, pool area and splash pad emaculate, great pier, and service at the marina. Took a pontoon out for 4 hours and had a blast. Extremly reasonable prices. What a great rec area for veterans, retirees, and AD!

If I could give ZERO stars for the front desk service I absolutely would. Firstly, I called to see what time the room may be ready since we drove all night. I was told it would be ready around 3:00-3:15. Typically check in is 4:00 but always good to see if maybe you could get in a bit earlier. We showed up at 3:00 and got complete attitude. The person at the desk walked outside and was maki g rude comments and mocking our last name as well saying rude comments “F these people” and other comments I won’t repeat and that check in was at 4 anyway. The hotel we stayed at on Ft. Campbell was simply amazing and professional and we were able to check in about an hour ahead. This place is anything but. We were put on a second level room with a million stairs with no elevator. (We asked for ADA accessible when we booked). When we questioned the room we were treated like second class citizens. I called to ask for the manager at the desk and she was completely worthless. I was told I could call and ask for Chris tomorrow but he is on vacation today…..great. I’m on vacation too but who cares right? The bed is like sleeping on bricks and our door doesn’t close unless you use the deadbolt. Super secure if you leave your room and use only a key card to enter. The A/C unit in the room is also so loud you can’t hear each other speak. It’s bad, so bad!! STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE! This place has been horrible so far. We stay at MWR facilities ALL of the time and I’ve never experienced such poor customer service and amenities period. Rooms are trash even at this price. Worst of the worst. Well, now we know!

This is our new winter destination. The employees ensured we were taken care of. Loved it. The resort is nice. This trip the weather was not nice as last year however it's still beautiful. The sunsets are stunning! From the resort, you have access to Destin. This is our second time here, and we are still finding new interesting places to go.
