The park was beautiful and seemed very peaceful when we first arrived with all the tall trees and the river. But once we settled in, we walked through the park and there seem to be quite a few very old RV/travel trailer with a lot of junk around them. Walking down to the river you had to watch your step because not everyone cleans up after their dogs. The showers are very outdated and smelled very musty. We could not get their Wi-Fi to work due to no signal and didn’t sleep due to a dog barking and what sounded like someone beating on a camper door or wall all night. We felt somewhat uneasy at this park so chose to leave earlier in the morning than planned.
We stayed at River's Edge for one night and overall it was okay for a single night stop. The site was a decent size, relatively easy to get into and had a picnic table. However, the sites are essentially compacted sand. You'll want a good sized rug if staying for more than a night. The park is only 2 miles off of the interstate but there isn't a grocery or gas station close and there's not really a campstore. The bathhouse is run down and in need of some updating especially with the windows not being frosted glass for privacy! Cell phones barely work and there's no internet to speak of so if you need to make a call or search for anything you will need to drive back to the interstate. I would recommend a full hookup site because the dump station is elevated such that the septic connection is higher than your camper tires when you pull in. The campground did have a small boat launch that would probably be good for kayaks and canoes but not much else.
We were so lucky to have came across Rivers edge. We had a flat tire and had to take our cross country trip to a pause, unable to get it fixed until the weekend was over. This place had one spot left & they kindly let us book last min. They were so understanding and super accommodating to our situation. We couldn’t have figured things out safely without this place ! We have so much gratitude. There’s a lot of space in between rvs to enjoy your space , quiet area, decent bathrooms & great costumer service. Although we won’t be in this area any time soon to revisit , we definitely would recommend to others!
Place isn’t bad. Fairly cheap but come to find out it is do to the a-hole of maintenance manager who like to try and intimidate women, even cussed out a female customer in front of the office people and they did nothing water system freezing multiple times last year, insurance company’s won’t insure campers there due to it being a flood zone.
Leaves get left for months allowing pigmy rattle snakes to live under it. Maintenance manager said the way get picked up in two days. One older gentleman had a pile for 2 months that lived across from one of the office managers Dawn, and a few spots away from the maintenance manager. They drink daily on the job, will sling rocks and limbs at your camper and windows while weed eating stating it won’t hurt anything. Roads are ridiculous with pot holes that maintenance does nothing about except place few rocks in it, two days later it’s right back as bad.
Such a great place to stay over while on a long distance trip. It was located about a mile off highway. They had the envelope for us at the office when we got in really late. They placed us close to office in an easy pull through site. It was dark so we couldn’t really see much, but it was woodsy and seemed really cool. Best part was we couldn’t hear the highway from the grounds. My husband used the showers in the early morning and said the water was hot and it was fine. We had water and power which is all we needed. We left early in the morning before sun rise. Price was so great especially since we only stayed 8 hours. Will definitely make it a stop every year. Thanks for accommodating us last minute on our way home for Christmas.
