This is a precious little place down a dirt road right outside of Panama City FL. When you initially pull up you will see the sign “Southern Grace Lavender Farm,” the farm itself is very small but it is really a fairly new endeavor. Jason will meet and greet you when you pull in and whatever you want to know about lavender, he can tell you. He is expanding and has some great goals and is truly an incredibly friendly host.
He gave us a tour of the entire place, telling us about the different varieties he grows and what they are used for. He has a great worm farm, and he farms fish to use the water to fertilize the lavender. Make sure you say hello to the sweet dog, Cotton who guards the 2 VERY large and lazy pigs. There are a lot of chickens and roosters, which greet you in the morning.
There is a beautiful little gift shop, where we intended to do some Christmas shopping but the products were so beautiful that I ended up keeping them for myself. He offers everything from wonderful wax melts, to bath bombs, to culinary spices which include lavender, to teas and lip balm. All in this little precious purple tiny house. It was just a fantastic little shop.
I would heartily encourage everyone to stop by, and then to revisit to watch this gorgeous little farm grow from season to season. Thank you Jason for such a wonderful time!
We stayed one night at this awesome Harvest Host in Panama City. Southern Grace Lavender Farm is an amazing stop for anyone passing through on I-10. They have free fresh eggs, fire pits (and supply a bundle of wood) and offer electric hookups as well as a hose to fill your fresh water tank before parking. The store is also full of awesome home goods. Check them out!
we had a wonderful time at this lavender farm. the host gave us a tour with a thorough lesson on the plants and operation. we learned a lot! the passion for the craft was evident! the spot was spacious and included a picnic table. premium sites were also really nice. included firewood, a ring, concrete pad, a trash can & even surge protectors. perfect for what we needed. highly recommend this spot! also… when he tells you the jelly is amazing, believe him!!! he challenged us to only take one spoonful and we each had 3 or 4 lol!
We visited Southern Grace as a Harvest Host site. So Glad that we did! Jason welcomed us graciously, explained where to park, then gave us a very informative tour of the farm. We shopped at the store, then grabbed some of the (free to Harvest Host stays) eggs for breakfast the next morning. The HH sites were the best we've seen, with built in firepit and wood provided, charcoal for the grill, and a concrete pad for the picnic table! We could smell the lavender occasionally and enjoyed the taste in the brittle. Looking forward to using the flour I bought also! Wonderful visit!
We discovered this amazing place on YouTube. We enjoyed our stay here as our first boondockimg/ Harvest Host experience. We spent 1 night in a premium site that included 50 amp power, gravel / concrete paved pad with a picnic table., fire ring and a complimentary bundle of wood for the fire. They also had roasting sticks. They only have a few sites so there’s plenty of space for a large rig. We enjoyed the tour of the property as Jason explained life as a lavender farmer. I never knew there are so many different varieties of lavender! We spent some money in their gift shop that was well worth it! Jason and Carrie are great hosts and made us feel at home! Whatever your traveling plans may be, this farm is definitely worth the stop! Oh and if the chickens seem you worthy, enjoy the free eggs!
