There are 21 campsites on the shore of East Park Reservoir where you can fish for rainbow trout. There is a trailhead at north end of the lake that leads east to US 191, and another one at the south end that leads west to Oaks Park Lake. This is a fantastic waterfowl hunting area.
From Vernal travel 20 miles north on US 191. Then go 4.5 miles northwest on Forest Road 018. Go 7 miles north on Forest Road 020.
Beautiful lakeside area and the campground is nice. No trash bins or potable water. 4 stars instead of 5 only because weekends tend to draw noisy partiers.
This is a great camp ground. A few things to note at the time of this review... There is in fact not water available at the camp ground. The website was a little ambiguous about this saying it both did and didn't have water. Fee was also $10 per night instead of the $12 on the website. Also said the RV length limit is 21' I think? They have some bigger and smaller sites. My brother and I parked our 33' and 23' travel trailers plus our tow vehicles in just one site. This place seems to be pretty popular, we went on Thursday afternoon and got a good site. But by Friday afternoon there were no sites left unoccupied. Close proximity to the reservoir and ATV trails means plenty to do. Sites had nice metal ring fire pits and concrete fab picnic tables. Would give 5 stars if the water was working but I wouldn't hesitate to camp here again in the future.
I don't want to say much it's something you have to experience with your own eyes. Beyond fantastic experience you never want to leave once you get there.
Like the spot in the trees, but the previous campers left rotten food in the trees our dogs got into before we knew it, and it attracted a lot of flies. Other than that, it was a nice spot
Beautiful location. Has picnic tables, fire pits and close access to East Park Reservoir at each campsite. There are bathrooms throughout the camp area. It accommodates large campers as well.
