Nice shaded and level walk through the woods. Not a strenuous hike at all, but many roots made it a good balance exercise. We saw a few garter snakes , frogs, toads, chipmunks and numerous birds. If you want a longer walk continue on to the Zim Smith trail extension, and enjoy the scenic bridge over a running stream.

Make sure you use bug spray for the mosquitoes:)

Not a bad little walk. Enjoyed it with my 4 year old around 8:30 on memorial day 2020. Many many mosquitos. You get eaten alive. Not to mentioned, the person who went around and vandalized the trees and the fallen trees across the path.

This is an enjoyable 1.4 mile, flat dirt-packed, shaded forest trail loop (not suitable for strollers - too many tree roots). It feels isolated, although it's tucked between neighborhoods and you can see the backyards of houses through the trees. The trees are lovely; there are no water features or elevation changes to break up the monotony, however. The trail is relatively easy to follow, although at points the forest opens up and the path becomes unclear..

There are no facilities, no bathrooms, no water, no picnic tables, no playground. There is a parking lot that can fit 5 or so cars. There is a trail spur that connects to the Zim Smith Trail. I like this forest trail for a quick, easy trail run, and it's a great place for walking dogs. There are signs posted for no hunting.

Overall a nice little trek with the dog. However, I have noticed over the years and the other day that the state isn’t maintaining the trails. But, if you like a quick and easy walk, this is the place.

Ushers Road State Forest was a hiking trail we found randomly while in the area searching for a successful hike. The forest was pretty wet. It had just rained 2 days before so there was lots of mud. There were a lot of large trees down all over the place. In particular, totally blocking progression of the trail. We weren’t interested in trying the vegetation so we turned around and left, did not complete the loop. The Forest Park is not well maintained, rotting trees everywhere, there’s signs of predators the boards are loose, maybe on a nicer day it would’ve been a better hike. The trees are very tall so there’s no doubt that this is an awesome place!
