My family has been coming here for years and it’s one of our favorite places to camp! We love riding on the Elroy Sparta bike trail, and it’s convenient to have the option to rent bikes right at the campground. It’s wonderful to have access to flushing toilets, showers, running water, and electricity, and the pool is the perfect place to cool off when it gets hot. We look forward to camping at Tunnel Trail every summer!

Pretty campground located on the hiking/bike trail. But can't reserve on-line, they won't tell you what space you have until you get there, limited store. Male owner/operator needs to work on people skills.

I'm not even sure where to start. Five stars for location. They are located right on the Sparta Elroy Trail. We have stayed at this campground before without issue. My first thought, and the thought of those who were also staying in our group, is that the owners are burned out. The daughters were very friendly and helpful. The person I assume was the mom, was not. She gave one or two word snippy responses and was less than helpful. There was a wasp nest in the kids playground. My grandson got stung. When my daughter went up to the office to let them know there was a bees nest in the play area, the mom said, "It's a wasps nest." My daughter came back and said she was very rude about it and if she knew it was there why didn't they get rid of it. One of the daughters came over and got rid of it. She was very friendly. The fire pit was completely full. We went to make dinner and couldn't start a fire because there was so much ash in the pit. My son in law went up to ask if they could clean it out. One of the daughters came down and cleaned it out. We were told that the pool was 85 degrees, however, it felt like the ice had just come off the lakes and we got to swim in it. The bathrooms.... omg... this was the kicker. They were absolutely gross. Dirty. We were there for 4 days and they did not get cleaned once. The walls in the showers are yellow and disgusting. I dropped something and was careful to pick it up without touching the walls with my bare body. I ended up throwing out the item I dropped as well. The stalls ran out of toilet paper on the morning of day 3. A couple of times there was a cart that was near the building and we thought, "Excellent! They are cleaning the bathrooms." They weren't. One of the shower curtains in the men's restroom was torn and on the ground. I get that we are camping, but when you are tent camping the one thing you do look forward to is a good shower. I remember this being a great place to camp, but we will not be back unfortunately.

I have to say that we have stayed here before and didn't have any issues but this trip was completely different. We booked 6 sites for family camping trip. The owner was very rude to my sister a couple of times. The bathroom and shower were horrible! We were there 4 days and it didn't get cleaned once. The tp in one stall was gone for 2 days before we left. The men's shower had the shower curtain laying on the floor for the weekend.

The heated pool is not heated. Everyone said it was freezing.

I liked the campground. It was nice but the customer service and cleanliness not so much!

Stayed here three nights to ride the Elroy Sparta bike trail. Very convenient, right on the trail. We stayed here in our 39 foot class A motorhome. There are just a few sites that can accommodate this size of rig, as most sites are shorter and quite close together. Most sites have water and electric. Due to low branches and tight turns, we were not able to access the dump station. We went 4 miles down the road to Wilton city campground and paid the five dollars to dumped our tanks there.

Shorter rigs and low profile campers should be able access most sites and the dump station.

Most sites are grass. Firewood for sale at the office.
