I recently had the opportunity to stay at Pine View Campground in Sparta, Wisconsin, and I must say that it was a delightful camping experience. Nestled in a picturesque location surrounded by nature, this campground provided a serene and peaceful environment for a relaxing getaway.

The campground offered spacious and well-maintained sites, allowing campers to set up their tents or RVs comfortably. The abundance of trees and greenery provided privacy between sites, giving each camper a sense of seclusion and tranquility. I appreciated the natural beauty of the surroundings, with the gentle rustling of leaves and the chirping of birds creating a soothing atmosphere.

Pine View Campground had excellent amenities to enhance the camping experience. The restroom and shower facilities were clean and well-kept, providing the necessary comforts of modern camping. The presence of fire pits and picnic tables at each site allowed for enjoyable outdoor meals and cozy campfire gatherings. I found these amenities to be convenient and well-maintained, adding to the overall enjoyment of my stay.

One of the highlights of this campground was its proximity to nature and outdoor activities. The surrounding area offered various hiking trails and fishing ponds, allowing campers to immerse themselves in nature's beauty and engage in recreational activities. I took advantage of the hiking trails and enjoyed the scenic views and fresh air. Additionally, the campground's location was ideal for exploring nearby attractions, including the Elroy-Sparta State Trail, known for its stunning scenery and tunnels.

Pine View Campground's location in Sparta, Wisconsin, provided a peaceful retreat while still being conveniently located near amenities and attractions. The campground's serene ambiance and well-maintained facilities allowed me to unwind and connect with nature.

In conclusion, Pine View Campground in Sparta, Wisconsin, offers a serene and relaxing camping experience. With its spacious sites, well-kept amenities, and proximity to nature and outdoor activities, it is an ideal destination for those seeking a peaceful getaway. I would recommend this campground to anyone looking to reconnect with nature and enjoy a tranquil camping experience.

My husband (30 year Navy retiree) and I thought we would try a short stay at one of Fort McCoy’s cabins.

The first thing we saw when we stepped inside the cabin was an old disgusting fly trap hanging from the ceiling with flies all over it. They didn’t change it. And the flies inside the cabin were impossible to get rid of.

Nothing was cleaned. The entire place was filthy. Everything I wiped down was black. We had to scrub entire cabin.

And the cute porch they show outside was disgusting. It wasn’t even swept off. There were many meals lying between the grooves of the floor, and the flies were having a field day.

There is no lake and there is no beach. There is the river with a very tiny roped off area to swim - the size of a small pond.

Their pictures are very deceiving. Needless to say, we cut our vacation short.

I only have one word to explain my stay here, and that is great! My stay got off to a somewhat rocky start, I booked my stay in July online but really I arrived in June (yeah I dunno either), and I arrived at about 9 at night. I called the camp host, who swung by in just a couple minutes, and when he couldn’t find my reservation, got me into a spot for the night and told me to come by the office when they opened to get it squared away. When I explained that I couldn’t be there until the afternoon, he said no big deal at all just swing by when you can. I then stopped into the office and the staff was very courteous and understanding, and got my reservation all changed over and taken care of for me. I didn’t even have to move out of my site! The site was very clean. The bathrooms were also very clean. And as usual, the other campers were also courteous and friendly. I enjoyed listening to the live night fires in the distance, and absolutely love the bugle calls! Once all the military activity settles down, the campground is silent! I got some amazing sleep while I was here. I really enjoyed my stay and will be back.

This is a awesome campground. Lots to do and very reasonable rentals. Very nice large sites. For the people complaining about the noise from training, what did you expect being on a active military base? It is not constant but you can hear gunfire at times from training. We will definitely be back
