Beautiful, picturesque park and campground! These are actual sunsets taken this summer. 🌞
This is a beautiful campground with mature trees. Almost all sites are shaded and of fairly good size. Most have electrical hookup. There are 6 showers, 3 each for boys and girls. The bathrooms/ showers were not the most modern, but exceptionally clean. The showers are free, but timed. 7 minute per shower with a 5 minute pause in between. The water was hot and had good pressure. There is a sand pit with swings and another with a volleyball net. Otherwise no playground, but plenty to do for all ages.. Make sure you bring kayaks and bikes. The 4 mile mostly paved trail around the lake is worth the hike/ bike trip and can easily be tackled by smaller children. We stayed on site 17, where we had access to the water with our kayaks. Fishing was the best close to the dam. There was a disc golf course on in the park across the lake and a huge sand beach on the south side.
The park and the lake were a beautiful location for the water ski competition. Although we did not stay at the campground, we pedaled our bicycles through the campground. It appeared to be very well laid out with wonderful sites. There is a nice dual purpose path for walking and bicycling that goes around the lake. There are many different areas on that path with picnic tables, restrooms, playgrounds as well.
Always clean and unlittered; love the rental kayaks during the summer! Excellent place to take the dog for a walk.
