From Wausau take CTH Z (Franklin Street) east 14 miles to CTH Y, CTH Y north 1 1/2 miles to park; OR STH 52 east to CTH Y, CTH Y south to park.
This is such a beautiful place! And they have a large group campsite with a fire pit in the center, tables and a bathroom. It’s just a short walk from the brand new playground. There are also several smaller individual campsites and an area with a large covered pavilion and tables right near the gorgeous river.
I do feel like the signage could be more clear.
I just found this place and it’s so beautiful so u had to go back with grand kids & they enjoyed it they found pollywogs, frogs, we even saw a turtle, of course fish, & crayfish I think that’s what my granddaughter called them🤔 but they had fun catching on releasing the first two bottles Cray fish were scary looking😄 there were older kids there, jumping off a cliff right into a pool of Rushing water you can go camping you can go hiking and supposedly on one of those hiking paths is the cave which we didn’t go down but looking forward to going back again soon and this time we’ll take swimming clothes to maybe jump in🤔😳 Cray fish are scary looking😆 but the rocks there are just so beautiful they look like petrified wood. This is a must visit! Enjoy
A great Wausau & Marathon County park. It's only open from May 1st through October 31st, offers camping mostly reserved, hiking, and connection to the Ice Age Trail.
It's a perfect place to grab some nice pics of dells, take a swim, and relax. There are reservable shelters, toilets, water pumps, as well as a playground
A favorite hiking and adventure spot near Wausau. The trails are great and many different trail options for different views. The rocks are fun to climb on and get close to the falls areas. Head south of the bridge on the Ice Age Trail for even more great hiking. There’s also shelters, picnic tables, beach and a playground. You won’t be disappointed by the amazing scenery!
Don’t have the pics… but I proposed at this park on the wooden bridge October 8 2022! I love this park for providing an amazing place away from too many people. Lovely trails and rocks.
