About Campground

Tranquility RV & Campgrounds is located in a quiet heavily wooded setting with plenty of separation between the sites. Camping is equally popular by both RV’s, tents and pop-ups for peace and relaxation. While the campground has a remote feel, it is actually within 10 minutes of a variety of restaurants and activities.

RV connections have (water; power; 20, 30 and 50 amp) and tent sites (water & power) at reasonable rates. Relax in a comfortable shaded campsite at our campground in Mentone, Alabama in the middle of an azalea covered landscape, with

Great, out of the way, family owned campground. If you are a KOA type and need a ton of amenities, don't bother as this is a laid-back no frills kind of place.

Tranquility is an amazing little campground. It's nestled back in the woods, and is very serene. We have a 38 feet Travel Trailer, and it was a little tricky maneuvering through the campground, but we made it just fine. The bath house was nice, and the owners are even better. Very hospitable and accommodating. The ONLY negative I can think of (which really isn't a negative) is that some sites aren't perfectly level. Only minor leveling needs to be achieved, and I only state this in case someone who can't level a rig, sees this and needs to request a level site.

DeSoto Falls is about a mile hike, and definitely worth it.

A great campsite with wonderful hosts. I was impressed by how well maintained the campground was! Every guest is welcomed at check in with a local newspaper and brochures for local state parks. Firewood is available for purchase and the owners will deliver it to your campsite for you. This will be my new go-to spot when visiting the area!

Absolutely loved our stay. The rv spots were awesome, with plenty of room between spots (we stayed at 4, I think its the best) Tent spots looked great too!

There is a nice little bathhouse with a few shower/bath rooms (loved for privacy) and a stalled restroom.

The lake/pond is beautiful with a large fire ring and a nice trail around the lake. I saw several black berry bushes and muscadine vines starting to sprout.

The location is perfect for visiting desoto park, falls, or Mentone.

Everyone I interacted with was super nice too.

Long post alert....

Just got back from our weekend at Tranquility Campground. If anything could go wrong trying to get on our way there, it did(on our end)🤦‍♀️...but Mrs. Ruth and Mr. Dewey were so understanding and accommodating and made sure we had a spot when we finally were able to make it.

Last night while getting ready to leave, we ran into another equipment issue and Mrs. Ruth sent Mr. Dewey to the rescue! We love this campground so much...Not only is it beautiful and perfectly fitting of its name, but we were treated like family and that says a lot in a day where we're not sure if there are too many good humans left in the world. You will definitely find them here. 🤗

Not only that, but the spots were so nicely spaced so you're not on top of your neighbors. The bathrooms were clean and the pond area is so pretty (the pics don't do it justice). There is hiking close by and if you forget anything there is a dollar general about 9 miles down the road.

We will definitely come back to this campground and I highly recommend it to all my camping friends...both tent and RV campers! Try this place out. You won't regret it!🥰
