This place has been in my family for Generations. My grandparents brought their kids, and us, and now I get to bring my kids here also. This is one of THE FRIENDLIEST places on this Earth. Small little camper community and some year round residents stay.

This place is day pay only 5$ with boat rentals, food, drinks, ON SITE HOOKUPS for RV's and TENT camping right by the water! Rules? ITS VERY RELAXED!! As long as your aren't bothering your neighbors, or creating a mess.. It's basically fair game for anything.

Fishing, lots of it all around the lake, my cousin has caught some HUGE bass, we've got turtles, catfish and dogfish, snails for the kids to find on the shores, frogs and an OSPREY lives close by and hangs out at the beach also! There is TONS of nearby nature for the kids to FREELY explore comfortably. With this place being such a community of campers, the kids are always watched and looked after by your neighbors too.

There is a store on site, the Kitchen is down for right now, but it is a full side snack bar kitchen, fries, mushrooms, chicken nuggets, hot dogs etc. A Cotton Candy machine is in the store also! Arcade and tons of playground equipment for bigger kids and little ones! They also have a GIANT Swing set, those babies can really get high AF.

There is ONE main bathroom by the RV washing station, Split up men and women's sides, they do include a SHOWER too but I believe it is only for people staying overnight, the shower section is partitioned off from inside the men and women's bathrooms with a lock. The bathrooms are definitely outdated and could use some fixing up, better lights inside so its not so dark, I know a few kids say its creepy in there LOL My daughter included. Let's not get mistaken though, it is fully functional and clean!

It is about 20 minute drive from Walmart even though you feel a million miles away from City Life while your there.

The lake is PRIVATE and it is very cleanly kept! NO GAS MOTORS, only trolling motors are allowed here, canoes, kayaks are PERFECT, paddle boats, blow up rafts even.. this lake is perfect. Lilly pads on the fishing sides, the whole entire back section of the lake is a wetland, so there are no houses to look at while camping, only nature. (Yes there are houses around the lake but none directly across from the beach scene)

Overall its a 10 out of 10. Highly recommend. Even doggo's are welcomed around here =]

New owners, trying to make it an enjoyable place for the family. Needs some work, but in time, will be nice. could use the seaweed to be cleaned out a bit more, not a very large swimming area. Nice people, close to home.

Paid $10 for a day pass. Beach was dirty, trash in water. 3 pm fourth of jully. Pinic area was littered with beer cans. Wasn't very busy. We went to Buttercup Beach on Holloway Reservoir. Much cleaner and better maintained. Plus it's free.

I was fortunate to find they have opened some sites for tent campers this year. And to get one of them the Friday morning before the Memorial Day weekend, I felt pretty lucky.

It had been nearly 33 years since I came to this kampground (as it's referred to) with my family as a boy. It's changed a bit. However, it still has amazing pan fishing and some sport fish to be had for those who enjoy fishing.

Lots of kids. This has a lot to do with the kampground being a permanent getaway for a good portion of the folks here.

My mother has a place just like this at the Canadian Lakes campground in Stanwood, MI.

Family friendly, family operated. Have a nice little store for the campgrounds. They'll soon carry a lot more than what they had over the weekend was the assurance I got from the manager, Jesse (Jessie?). Her and her staff are very helpful and very reliable when it comes to taking care of everyone.

For now, they have a little of all the immediate or important essentials. Snacks, sundries, and drinks. A few extra housewares are available in case you forgot silverware and such. The old cotton candy machine is likely going to be a kid favorite when/if it gets going.

The bathroom and showers are maintained well. The boat rentals are coming as soon as DNR shows up for inspection. The fishing dock will be in the water shortly. Definitely want to spend time here when I can for a great destination to do such just outside of Flint 45 minutes. About an hour and 20 from Warren where I grew up and my current neighbors for the weekend hail.

If you can't hang with the "it takes a village" approach to all the young kids 4 and up, well, this may not be the place for you. But as a weekend warrior Dad that would like kids for my 1 to play with, it's a goldmine. The old school playground is perfect. The one-way streets are easy for the kids and all to navigate. Be it by foot, bike, or golf cart. It gets quiet on a full capacity night by 11:00-12:00. But all in all, it's community camping. Great friendly folks.

Firewood was a good deal. $20 got me 15-20 nice pieces. Some could be cut in two, so bring a splitter or hatchet. Make it last even longer.
