Come for a picnic, afternoon swim, fishing trip or a weekend campout on the banks of the spring-fed Blanco River. We’re just an hour from Austin and San Antonio.

We love Blanco State Park’s riverside setting and small size. Also convenient for walking to the town square. We use the park as base for visiting friends and family in the Austin area, 60-90 minutes away.
This campground ⛺ is quiet and next to the river, you can access in the river directly from the campsite. But just a few picnic tables and grills along with the river, you have better to bring your own. Shower room only available to campers. The river is not crystal clear but if you don't have better choices, I think you may take a chance on it. The river is good 👍 for tubing and swimming 🥽🏊. $25 for overnight campsite. Entry fee is $5 per person. Campfire 🔥🪵🪓 is allowed. Dog 🐕 friendly campground. Weekends are always fully booked.
I have a state park pass. I have been checking out the campsite areas. This is a very nicely laid out but small campsite area. The problem I had with this park is that US 281 is around 2 blocks, approximately of this major road. I would prefer a more isolated campsite area.

One of the smallest state parks, located a rock throw away from downtown Blanco. Good for short walks and lots of fishing/ camping. Walking across the dams is pretty cool.
This is cool place for a day trip, this is mostly located around the Blanco river. There's a small and nice trail beside the river, whereas they created a dam/pool near to the entrance. There're arrangements of fishing and camping inside. The park is nice and clean and there's a nice viewpoint at the end of the trail. The restrooms are neat and well maintained. The entry fee is 5USD/person a day. Whereas, this is not a naturally wondering special place, it's good place to have fun and little activities on a given day.
