Great hike , mostly shaded. So you can do it on a warm day. It’s a pretty long walk like over 6 miles if you don’t take any short cuts, so bring plenty of water. I got to see deers, squirrels, cardinals, lizards and other wild animals.
Notice : this trail is also a bike single trail, so I recommend to do it in the direction opposite to the direction the bike riders ride, that way you’ll get to see them ahead of time and clear the way.
Great location for Bluebonnets and wildflowers! Fields and fields of bluebonnets. $5 entrance with parking near camping area with the ability to roam among multiple paths and acres of blue bonnets. Pets allowed on a leash.
Awesome place to watch and enjoy the wildflowers especially the bluebonnets. There is an entry fee of $5 per adult and it’s worth it. Parking is fine as you can park anywhere and along the road. Not paved road it’s all gravel. Limited restrooms though. Good spot for bluebonnet photography and photo shoots
Usually in parks the entry tickets are per car however here it’s per person. $5 ticket per adult but totally worth it for the blue bonnet blooms. Water body near by makes it even more spectacular. Apart from blue bonnets there are some white and yellow wildflowers as well. Nice place to chill out. There are some camping place as well. People bring their camp gears or just folding chairs and picnic blankets to enjoy nice view with blue bonnets fragrance in the air. Some hike trails. Quite a large area. You can drive car around and check it out. However the road are not concrete roads but just gravel and some rocks. So if you’ve car with low clearance- be careful going to steep roads. Restrooms available by the entrance. If you want to go there during blooming season - March last week and April first week are appropriate time for that.
I loved it. This was the first time me and my husband visited this park. It was so beautiful 😍. It was a long drive for us but still worth it. I loved the blue bonnets how they were everywhere. It was quite a beautiful sight. Plenty of spots for taking pictures too and lots of camping sites available. Such a fun little place to spend some time. We had a so much fun and spend some quality time.
