Come and enjoy it with us at Slide Mountain Cabins and RV Park. We are located at mile marker 135 of the Glenn Highway in beautiful Nelchina, Alaska. Only a hour drive from Glennallen, Alaska or a three hour drive from Anchorage.
We are the adventurous (or maybe more like crazy) Stark family. We moved from the warm climate of Minnesota to Alaska in 2009 and have been enjoying frostbite cheeks and frozen toes ever since.
Slide Mountain Cabins and RV Park has been our home since 2012. It is fairly remote and in one of the most beautiful places in the world that you can see from a car. We love it.
Our park has spacious RV sites with full hook-ups that can accommodate any size rig.
We also have a variety of gorgeous cabins (they have bathrooms!) that can accommodate up to eight. Unfortunately we do have WiFi available for your can’t get away from it all needs.
If you’re looking for things to do in the area how about: climbing a glacier, flight seeing, berry picking, hiking trails, ATV tours or just relaxing in our park and enjoying friends and family around a warm fire.
This park is beautiful and has amenities for your enjoyment. Sparkling clean restrooms and showers, an indoor pavilion with a fireplace, propane grills for cooking(we provide the gas!), a play area for your kids and plenty of grassy areas for your dogs!

We stayed in an RV spot. Campground was very clean, a lot of space between sites. Picnic table and fire pit. Beautiful views, great trails to ride straight from campsite. We will definitely visit there again.
Owners keep the park very nice and clean with an area for gathering undercover with a fireplace and also an area to BBQ where all items are provided. Nice area for the dogs to run, and all sites have fire pits. If i had to say there was any negatives, it would be the proximity to the main road, but so many campgrounds have that.
Gravel parking lot for RVs. No view. Above highway so little road noise. Very clean bathroom shower for$5. Free dump station. Good internet. Enclosed room for groups to gather. 2BBQs. Several trails from this location.
This campground was super clean and the owner/staff was very friendly! I would definitely stay here again given the opportunity. Furthermore, I needed a different hose for the water hookup to my RV and the owner was generous enough to let me borrow one for our stay.
Such a beautiful stay! This was the cleanest accomodations we've stayed at in all of our Alaskan travels! We had the pleasure of staying in one of the smaller cabins and it was so well thought out! The views were gorgeous, the kids enjoyed the wonderful playground, and the fire pit pavilion was so lovely on a chilly night. It was obvious that the owners of this campground truly care about the details- soft large bath towels provided, high quality blackout blinds to keep that summer sun out at night, high speed internet, new picnic tables and nice grills provided and even some games for the kids to play had we needed it. And again, the cabin was immaculately clean! We would recommend this campground to anyone traveling through!
