We are located just one mile from Cape Cod Bay and one half mile away from the Cape Cod Rail Trail. The campground’s amenities include shady hookup and no-hookup campsites, most campsites with Cable TV, clean modern restrooms, free private hot showers, free Wi-fi, a laundry and a playground. Additionally, our beautiful lodge features a camp store and game room. Campfires are permitted until 11:00 PM, so bring along the marshmallows! Shady Knoll Campground accommodates tents, pop-ups and RV’s up to 38 feet.
From jct US 6 (exit 11) & Hwy 137: Go 4 mi N on Hwy 137 to jct with US 6 A.
The sites are nice and good location. It is tight for larger units (22' +), the spots and routes are small. The routes are one way. HOWEVER, the only way to access the dump station is to circle back into the campground. The dump is at site 12 or something, so have to fully go through the whole campground the circle back to dump. With the small roads and a larger unit this is inconvenient at best, and there is only one station. hence the 3 star rating.
I’d give more stars if I could! Our first time to Cape Cod was last year and we stayed 8 nights at Shady Knoll. We loved it so much that we booked for this year and we’re finishing up our 15 night stay.
This campground is quiet, well maintained, and everyone that works here has been incredibly friendly. The showers and bathrooms are kept clean - plus great water pressure and we’ve never run out of hot water. We appreciate the (enforced) quiet hours from 10pm-8am - we’ve never had a poor night’s sleep.
There’s a market within walking distance and that’s a huge plus for that item you inevitably forget. They have a little of everything there and they are really friendly, too! You’re close to several beaches, bike trail, great restaurants.. the location is hard to beat.
We’re still here and we are already planning our 2024 trip back!
Good amenities, nice staff, free shower, water on all sites. But I saw poison ivy at different areas of the campground, mostly near the roads and washrooms. We should have at least been warned and ideally it would be removed or labeled. It's very easy to miss. I'm able to identify it because I am extremely reactive and therefore a bit paranoid about this.
"Rooms" doesn't quite fit for a campground, but I'm thinking this correlates more to sites. Our site #25 was great in length, a little tight in width. The sites here are definitely cozy, but adequately supplied with picnic tables, fire pits, and vegetative buffers. The staff here was friendly, as were the neighbors. Close to the Rail Trail and a number of good restaurants. Just minutes from the town beach which allows dogs after September 15th. All in all a great stay - of course perfect weather helped too!
