From jct Hwy 128 & Concord St (exit 13): Go 3/4 mi N on Concord St, then 1/2 mi NE on Atlantic St (Wingaersheek Beach Rd).
The ladies in the main office are great, super nice and helpful, if it was based on them alone I'd give 5 stars...but the sites are not maintained, there were huge rocks on the tiny dirt path to our site #121, my SUV was scraping rocks underneath they were so big. The bathrooms were disgusting. The showers were just as dirty. And we had raccoons despite having zero food or trash at our site. Yes I know we're in the woods but wildlife has never tried to claw through our tent at 3am when there was no food around.
Also had to clean up our site when we first got there from the previous guests who left chip bags, cans everywhere, a million zip ties for some reason, etc.
Who doesn't ensure a site is clean before the next reservation arrives? Isn't that the point of the check out/check in times? So there's a time slot to check the site and clean if needed? Site next to us looked like no one had touched it in about 3 years, couldn't find the fire pit there were so many leaves everywhere.
The wifi doesn't work most of the time, we tried to upgrade to the better one that's $3/day, and it was the exact same. Won't stay connected and slow.
We left a day early. Wouldn't recommend unless they get someone who is actually going to maintain and care about the place. Great check-in staff though.
The ladies at the front desk were super nice and lenient. Location is very convenient to Rockport. I would say the downside of my reservation was the used syringe/needle in firepit on my campsite and the fact that quiet hours were not necessarily quiet until after 12am. Little pricey too for what we paid for. Otherwise, the experience was okay.
First time camping here roads are a little rough in & out the sites are set up like buddy sites good if your camping with friends because your facing each other. Bathrooms could of had better shower heads & doors that locked in the bathroom. Sites definitely needed to be more level
There were a few reviews that said campsites were spread out , this was not the case at all, now I can’t give it a bad review for that reason because we are used to primitive camping in the boon docks, it would be nice for families definitely. Quiet at night , we are in our 50’s but still like to have fun when we go camping and stay up late . No privacy though , not woodsy at all, it was definitely over priced but it’s the area we paid for. The bathrooms were disgusting, again I am used to a port a potty or my own bucket with toilet lid so for 52 dollars you would think the showers would be free and bathrooms clean. So if you want privacy do not come here. Beaches free after 5
Really enjoyed our 4 night stay here. Lots are nicely treed and, since it is off-season for most campers, we didn't have many neighbours.
Staff was great and very helpful and were willing to lend us an adaptor we needed for our electrical supply. It was far enough away we needed an extension.
They have dishwashing stations which was a nice convenience.
Some reviewers complained about the showers etc...but they suited us nicely. A little rustic perhaps but the water was warm and the pressure fine.
If you need a 'Resort' type experience, Cape Ann may not be for you, but it suited us nicely and we would not hesitate in staying here again.
