Called to reserve a room and was told that it would be ready in about an hour. I told her we would take it, but we were currently at a funeral and we would be there in a few hours. She agreed that we could have this room. Once arrives she looked at me and would not open the door and said she was full. This lady denied me a room because of my race and tattoos. Because of her racism we had no where to stay.
Very wonderful lady. There are only like 5 rooms and they are old but clean. Apparently this place is primarily for her Equine / Trail riding clients. They grill out and visit in the evenings then they bunk up and head out in the mornings. I guess she has stables to the rear. That explains the Rustic bunk room layout and no television (I think the other rooms had TV).
I actually called ahead and she told me to just go in the room that had the key in the door and we would meet up sometime before I left.
If you are traveling through and you like all the creature comforts of nearby restaurants and other things then this is probably not for you. But even though I had no horses and it was not what I was looking for, I am actually pleased that circumstances intervened and I stopped here. I enjoyed the peace and sunset and I actually sat around outside for a bit and visited with a few "weekend cowgirls" from the midwest on there "Hubby and kids at home" vacation and a pleasant older couple just passing through. I just enjoyed the location and the moment and I would definitely stop by again.
Room not clean, no owner/manager on the premises, did not feel safe. My husband and I had reserved a room for 1 night during our bicycle tour. Her website lists tent and rv sites but when I spoke with Faith requesting a tent site she stated she only rents out rooms. When we arrived Faith was not there, but there is a sign on the main house with instructions on accessing the room and how to pay and that she may or may not return that day. While the room was a good size and the beds were made with clean towels on them, the shower had used bars of soap and open packets of shampoo scattered on the floor, the toilet had not been flushed from the past user and all the trash cans in the room had trash in them . We could of dealt with this but then tenants who work in the local hemp fields (as they told us) and rent rooms by the week started drinking heavily and became very loud, cursing etc. The end result was not feeling safe here so we loaded up our pedal bikes and left, paying for a room we did not stay in.
Faith was so warm and wonderful to visit with she knows the area very well and helped us with where to order food history of the area interesting facts and information on where we were going and posible road issues. We were treated to some apples grown at the property. The rooms are older but were clean had a fresh scent not perfumed bedding was clean and confortable this is not a four star hotel but in my mind it is better its a privately owned hotel and was a wonderful unexpected experience during our trip to colorado
Super friendly and kind lady runs this place and the premises have a super positive vibe. Right when I checked in their cute resident cat came to stay hi. Once I moved my bags in their super adorable dog came to say hi. Flowers all around and great sunset views. The place was affordable, comfortable, quiet, peaceful and close to the town of Saguache.
