Although people were friendly, campsites were way way way too close together for our liking. My husband and I really wanted to enjoy some peace and quiet in nature but I honestly didn’t feel like I could even kiss him without it being considered PDA because of how close our neighbors were—through no fault of their own as they were within their site but the sites were just that close!! We live somewhat locally so we just set up our chairs for an hour or so before returning home and forfeiting our payment for a two night stay. The creek is absolutely stunning and if campsites were further apart this would have easily been my favorite place to camp. If you’re genuinely unbothered by feeling like you’re in a very public place and don’t mind being so close to your neighbors you can hear their conversations and they can hear yours—this is a great place to be! This just wasn’t our idea of a relaxing weekend in nature. Keep this in mind if you plan to stay here—you WILL be very close to your neighbors and if you’re more introverted and looking to get away from people and connect with nature in general, this probably isn’t the place for you!
The campsites along the river are very nice. It is a small campground. After I set up camp three cars pulled up next to my site. The camp sites are WAY too close to each other. There is absolutely NO privacy whatsoever. I spent my weekend next to 8 people who were an arms length away. If you like peace and quiet, this place is not for you.
This is a decent budget friendly campground. Full hookup sites available. They also have a dumpstation. For those looking to truly get away, there is no cell service. The bathrooms/showers need cleaned. They were pretty bad. There is a small playground with half court basketball. There is a Pavillion but additional reservations may need to be made, I'm not sure. The sites along the creek would be a lot better if some of the tall weeds and shrubs were cut back. Each creekside site does have a nice path to the water. Guests are free to come and go as they wish at no additional charge. No golfcarts or ATVs allowed. Firewood can be bought or bring your own. Basic fire rings on each site so I suggest keeping peices less than 12 inches. Each site also has a picnic table and a trashcan. Tent and RV sites available. It's a very basic campground. Pay the site fee ahead of time. When you get there find your site number, setup camp, and enjoy. There is more front office so there is no check-in or anything like that. There is no site map. No onsite vending of anykind (no drinks, snacks, ice, etc.) Like I said, very basic but again, very affordable. It is a great campground if you're on a budget.
Decent economical campground but kind of in the middle of nowhere. The full hookup sites were large enough, and right on the river. I had a great time here, solo camping and fishing every day. But that's why I went. For a family or a couple who isn't big into trout fishing, you might get a little bored. There is not much to do that is very close by. The nearest decent sized grocery store or Walmart is about 45 minutes away. But if you're looking to get away from all that, this could be a nice peaceful retreat.
