From Roseburg, Turn onto OR-138 E/NE Diamond Lake Blvd. Continue on OR-138 approximatley 16 miles until you reach the town of Glide. Upon entering Glide the North Umpqua Ranger Station will be on your left. From the North Umpqua Ranger Station (16 miles east of Roseburg on State Highway 138), take Highway 138 1/4 mile west to Little River Road #17. Follow Little River Road for 20 miles, at which point it becomes Forest Service Road 27 and is gravel. Continue another 7 miles to the campground.
Visited on Memorial Day weekend (May 29, 2017). You can drive around the small lake in less than 5 minutes. Completely packed campground (no camping slots available) with adults, elderly, kids and dogs. People were shoulder to shoulder fishing on the open banks most likely because of the weekend and possibly the lake being freshly stocked. A little too popular and small.
Drove through Lake in the Woods on my way back from Hemlock Lake. Very quite & peaceful. There were lots of campsites available, dispersed around the lake. Would love to come back & camp, take photos & enjoy all the wildlife.
Been going here for years! Two trail heads to choose from, clean, fishing, mostly quiet!
