From State Hwy. 38, watch for signs 20 miles east of Reedsport. Turn south onto County Road 3, travel seven miles to Loon Lake Recreation Site. There is a private, commercial lodge by the same name a mile further.
My family has come here for vacations for over five years. The cabins are awesome, the big house has wifi and a private dock.
Boat rentals were hassle free.
We enjoy this location so much we don't tell anyone about it.(just kidding)that way it's not always full.
We love Loon Lake! We've been to Loon Lake at least five different times this summer. The Sandy Beach at the day use area is fantastic. The water during the summer is always cool, but not cold. This makes it easier for my kids want to go play in it. The picnic area behind the sandy beach is full of trees and picnic tables. Remember to bring $5 for parking.
Visited w husband, who hadn't been there in over 50 years. It had been upgraded w lodge and nice sandy beach. Even a small gas station! Was surprised to see MANY houses on inaccessible side of lake.
(Had to get there by boat) Wonderful, slow (curvey) drive thru forest to get there. Clean w clean restrooms, too 😁
