One Mile Campground is located 18 miles from Gunnison, Colo.,f in the Taylor River Canyon. Visitors enjoy the area for its rafting, fishing and trail opportunities.
From Gunnison, Colo., travel north on Colorado Highway 135 for 10 miles, to Almont. Turn right onto Taylor Canyon Road and proceed just over 8 miles to the campground entrance, which is on the right.
WATER IS NOT AVAILABLE at this campground - Please bring your own water or fill up at Lotti's Creek Campground
A mandatory $4 fee for electric service will be collected at the campground
The best thing about One Mile Campground is Danielle the campground host. She is the most helpful and friendly host we have ever experienced and she keeps the campground, including the restrooms, immaculately clean.
Great National Forest campground. Several sites with with electric hook a few with full hook up. 25 camp sites in total with the last one just before the turn around. Camped here two years in a row and will continue coming back. About 30 min to Crested Butte.
Great campground about 25 min from CB. The camp host, Doug, was friendly and super competent. He keeps the place immaculate.
Heads up about 1/3 of the spaces are first come first serve - ask Doug because he is way better than recreation.gov 🙂
We LOVE ONE MILE!! It’s always our top pick when we think about camping! The host, Danielle and her son, Josh are so friendly, fun and helpful! Can’t wait for our next visit!!
