Parry Peak Campground is a first-come, first-served campground located in a shady lodgepole pine and aspenforest along the whitewaters of Lake Creek. This campground is a favorite amongst anglers with a spectacular view of Parry Peak. Access to the Continental Divide Trail is just down the road. Firewood is available for sale at the host site. High altitude sickness may occur at this altitude.
From Leadville, go 15 miles south on US 24, then west on CO 82 past Twin Lakes Reservoir andTwin Lakes Village.
This was a beautiful campground. It was a last minute decision and we ended up in a perfect spot. The only thing that would had made it better is to have water available on site. The host was fantastic and the bathrooms were very clean as was the entire campground.
A gem. If you have a trailer and can get site #24 you will be happy. It's the best site and we scored it somehow. The sites on the entrance side of river are good, flat, easy to pull into and provide just enough space from your neighbor. NO HOOKUPS HERE. We did cruise 5 minutes to White Star Campground to dump for $10 so that was easy. You could also fill fresh water there I believe. No water at Parrys though.
Nice first come first serve Forest Service campground. I was able to get the next to last open site at 2 pm on a Thursday afternoon. Sites look clean, pit toilets are clean. Nice camp host. Sites are gravel, they are not long driveways, but fairly level.
Awesome location! Mostly sites for trailers, but we stayed at site #25 (tent only) which was perfect. Only a few steps away from the water, which was moving very fast mid-June, so I wouldn't recommend to families with small children but perfect spot to filter your own water.
This is a great little campground with super clean vault bathrooms. It was nice to meet the hosts they were real cool. The creek is beautiful and there are fantastic views everywhere.
