From town, W 4 mi on US-35 (L).
The French 500 Flea Market is pretty much always a great chance to spend a few hours perusing through all the vendors and finding things you never knew you wanted! For those who don't know, this is a mix of people from out of county (or even state) and the people from and around Gallopolis coming to sell their items. Some people sell specialty stuff like clothing or accessories (like you would see with street vendors) but most people sell stuff like at a yard sell. The Flea Market is free to walk in and free to park. And parking is literally right next to the market! And if my memory serves, the Flea Market is open on the 2nd full weekend of the month. I believe they post a schedule online as well just in case of unavailable months, so be sure to check on that. And for those who want to sell at the Flea Market, you'll have to get in contact with the French 500 Flea Market to see what you need to do.
Hope this has been helpful!
We stopped here last night. The campground is basic grass parking spots BUT full hookups and 50 amp for $25! Easy to find. Can't be beat! BUT THE BEST PART was the people we encountered. County fair people who happened to be there for a meeting were sweet, kind, generous! Thanks so much. You made our day!
I've been there for a couple of events and it was a very pleasant experience.
We were attending the French 500 Flea Market. Many vendors. Weather was good, but started to get hot. Only drawback, hardly anywhere to use the restroom.
