In Altoona, FL, at the intersection of County Rt. 42 and State Rt. 19, take Rt. 19 north 3.1 miles to campground sign. Turn right at sign and go 0.2 miles to campground.
Stopped here for a quick test and it was so beautiful and peaceful. Can’t wait to go back and just enjoy a good book in front of the water. There’s camping and restrooms here.
This is the noisiest campground I have ever been too. Horrible actually. Nothing to do either and the road is filled with pot holes.

✊🏾 Great first time camping spot. Good for stargazing and astrophotography also nice sunrise at the boat ramp overlooking the lake. Clean restroom with showers and water faucet at each camp site. You can camp in a tent, car or RV. Good for kids and people who are unfamiliar with the area and or camping. Besides the few EXPECTED stares from other campers I felt safe here and around town even got a few hello’s 🏕️
Well kept up campground with a laid back vibe. Site 12 included fire ring, picnic table, grill, tent plateau, and potable water. A few other campers were on the campground but didn’t hear a peep from anyone. My only complaint is that it’s next to a trailer park. You’ll hear dogs barking occasionally and I was woken up by a rooster at 3:30am. Sunrise view over lake dorr was nice too.
