The park is located off Route 3, three miles west of Sackets Harbor, at Henderson Bay
It's a pretty nice place to stay. There is cool breeze blowing off the lake all day and night. For tent campers on the lower loop you'll enjoy the sounds of light waves crashing while you sleep. Camping registering involves what seems like a two page questionnaire when you arrive. They have a no hammock rule that isn't on the website, but the ranger was cool and allowed us to use one out of necessity.
Nice state park. Pretty steep entrance fee. $8 per senior to just go see the lake.
Was a nice family day. I would actually have given it a 5 star, but the beach was full of grass/weeds. There was also a dead fish that had washed up on shore and was rotting away. Other than that, it is a beautiful, peaceful beach to enjoy. Love that they have picnic tables and a playground for the kids to have fun at. Bathrooms were clean and in great order. We enjoyed our day and will definitely be back!
Beautiful Saturday afternoon in early September. Very few people here, peaceful and relaxing ..A tad bit chilly, but my dogs loved the weather...
We came here for my husband's birthday and brought our puppy. We had a blast! Our puppy enjoyed the sand and water. It was not very busy, and there was plenty of room to run and play.
