This was a fun little park with some surprising history. Astronauts trained here for moon landings and this region is home to some of the earliest Native Americans. The staff were very friendly and the kids were able to get junior ranger badges and the vistas were great. This was a fun afternoon trip from Red River. Would recommend for anyone that likes going to national parks and monuments.

The area and views were amazing. The La Junta trail was closed however that did not pact our enjoyment of the area and views. It was spectacular. Thisbis where the Red River meetsbthe Rio Grande. The park was nice well kept. The weather was amazing (being from texas it was the best). I would gladly go back.

Beautiful camp ground, overlooking the canyon ridge. Sadly the La Junta trail is closed for the foreseeable future which is the trail that takes you down to the river.

Definitely a very nice place to stop and camp for a few days Stoughton, the overlook itself is worth it!
