About Campground

Mt. Carmel Motel and RV is located along scenic Highway 89 in Southern Utah and is just 20 minutes from Zion National Park and a little over an hour from Bryce Canyon National Park. We have been a family operation for nearly 40 years. We also live and work on a farm and ranch near our motel that has been in the family for 4 generations. We love being able to meet wonderful people from all over the world and provide them an affordable experience in our unique farm town setting as they visit our nearby national parks. We would love to host you and your family next time you visit the area!

I am Joe (not Andrea--she made the reservation)

I'm not a perfectionist and have stayed in some lowly places but never before have I paid for them what I paid for this motel. I will say that it appeared clean but that's about all. Some things in or, not in, this room:

carpet: design worn completely off except around the edges

light: two bare bulbs in ceiling with no fixture cover

phone: none

bedside lamps: none (just the two ceiling bulbs)

tables: small drop-leaf with edge veneer torn off

bed; interesting; the headboard and border were daubed with

black paint spots; decoration I guess.

closet: none, or a place to hang your pants!

bathroom: just a sink and commode. No vanity, no shelve no

hangers

I feel like it was clean but it was a very "cheap" room with nice

room price. The only way I would stay here again is to

absolutely have no other place to stay. I'm giving it a "2"

rating because it did appear clean.

This is a great little motel in a fantastic location- just a mile or two from the Thunderbird restaurant and in between Zion and Bryce. It was a refreshing change from the busyness of Springdale! We stayed in the Bryce room and it was spotless and smelled so fresh- not the “fresh cleaning chemical” smell but actually CLEAN. Bathroom was very small and had no exhaust fan, but the water pressure was great (so nice after a long day of hiking) and had bright lighting. Big mini fridge with room for all of our road-trip snacks. Check in was easy- they email you a door code. The only negatives we had was that the room was close to the road so the trucks at night were pretty loud, and there were only two very poor pillows on each bed. Overall we liked the place and would go back!

Clean, comfy beds, perfect location! Very communicative with admin helped a lot. Fridge kept our wine cold. The Thunderbird Restaurant at the intersection of rout 9 going to the park was excellent.

Have stayed there multiple times over the years and would go back.

We booked #7 Farm Room for 3 nights. This room had just the right size for us and comes with a king size bed. Everything was perfectly clean, the bathroom was great and air conditioning did its job well. The location of this motel is between Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. So for those, who want to enjoy both parks, it‘s just the right spot. The hosts are very attentive and even provide information about local events.

So in the end we can fully recommend to stay at this motel.

Great location near east entrance of Zion. That was our main goal. The rooms are basic but that’s what we expected at an exceptional price per night. It was as clean as we expected. The totally virtual checking in system and lots of email communication was new for me in a motel checking/out but worked well. The conversation I had with the management via phone was very positive.
