Morro Bay State Park campground features lagoon and natural bay habitat. The bay's most prominent landmark is Morro Rock. The park has opportunities for sailing, fishing, hiking, and bird watching. The park museum has exhibits that cover natural features and cultural history, Native American life, geology, and oceanography. The park also has a colorful marina and an 18-hole public golf course. On the bay's northeast edge is a pristine saltwater marsh that supports a thriving bird population.
The campground is nice and quiet, but a bit run down. But the trail around parts of the bay is awesome. It's well maintained and there are a lot of birds to view
Its a beautiful place to visit.liked the view with the small harbor.when we went Morro rock was fully covered with mist it was wonderful to experience.Even the the town has that lively and relaxing atmosphere .
Beautiful area. The Rock is huge. The ocean and wildlife are amazing. The beaches area clean and the ocean smell is so relaxing. Enjoy! ☀️
Morro Bay State Park is on of the coolest coastal parks I have visited. We did a kayaking tour and got an up close view of the active oyster farming which was fascinating.
This is an easy place to kayak as calm waters of the bay provide the perfect setting for even beginners. There are plenty of other things to do such as hiking trails, bird watching, and fishing. The park is also home to the 500+ foot tall Morro Rock. Really cool place.
Such a unique place, in between LA and SF, you get to this location in the middle of nowhere where you can spot otters and walk around a charming fisherman village. I really enjoy this place, very peaceful.
