The camp host is a very nice person, once you get to know him.
He doesn't play the special treatment, for all the out of towners, that claim they're locals.
He is a Harbor Master, and doesn't have time to be on the property 24/7 for special needs that, fake locals, want served, like he is some kind of concierge.
If there is a spot available then he'll put you in it.
This is a beautiful spot so don't get on his bad side, or he will ignore you.
Thank you Mark for being there when we needed a spot in a pinch.

The list of people that claim they are local to santa cruz that also leave bad reviews on the harbor must have Dunning-Kruger Effect!

I was actually on a walk through Arana Gulch and down to the harbor. Found a nice bench in front of the RV park. I'd never noticed it was there. I had never seen all the spots full Is why I didn't know it was a RV park. Everything you need is there and your at the harbor in Santa Cruz. Beautiful and quiet with great restaurants an easy 3/4 mile walk through marina away. IMPORTANT: Verify your spot number ahead of time though because when we got there at 1045 our name and spot number was not posted on the white board as was another person's. We knocked on the door of the check in trailer and no one was there, and no one answered the phone. So we called and left a message and parked in an empty spot and went to a family member's memorial at the yacht club. We got a call back at 1115 that we are in the wrong spot and need to move our rv. He said well you got there before your 1100 check in time. Seriously?!? It was only 15 minutes before and no one was around! I asked if we can move it in 2 hours but nope. The spots are all in a line and appear the same so I don't know what the big deal was. I had to leave the family memorial and go back to move our rv and lost over 30 min of a 2 hour memorial. Not a happy camper!!
Great place !! Host is very friendly and knowledgeable. About a 3/4 mile walk to the beach and well worth it, restaurants on the beach are really good. Dog park across the harbor up the stairs with friendly people and pets. We will definitely be back.
Checked in early and spoke with Mark. He followed us to our RV and said we cannot come back to this campsite again but will let us stay for the night because we reserved a spot already in advance. This place discriminates.
