From Highway 1 (CA-1) take Highway 17 (CA-17) to Mount Hermon Road. Follow Mt. Hermon Road and take a right on Graham Hill Road and then left on Highway 9 (CA-9).
great RV park, staff was very friendly and accommodating— they waited even after they closed for us to get to the park in order to get a camp site. beautiful view of the river that you are able to hike down to. only downside is how tight the spaces are, but if you come at a time they are not packed, you are able to get a few spaces to yourself allowing more room. beautiful place, will definitely come again if we are in the area.
I originally booked my site in February for a late July trip, and we were planning on taking our own trailer. Well our truck broke down and I rented one to be delivered. The campground stated we must have a truck on the premises at all times! That the first stressful situation, then as we are driving up the day of our arrival we we’re told that the trailer we were renting was too long to fit our spot and we couldn’t stay! After some discussion and more stress they said ok! And the trailer fit with plenty of room! The guy who delivering our trailer wanted to come in early and again we we’re told no, he even offered to pay the balance! Needless to say we won’t stay there every again! Which is a shame because the campground was fine and our experience once we were there was fine, but they made the whole experience before hand very stressful and they were also extremely rude!
My family and myself have been camping at Smithwoods for years now. Always a great time, facility and location unbeatable. Children and pet friendly.
Fresh swimming pool looks great-and Wi-Fi through out the park for people that can’t disconnect for little while.
The staff is always friendly, helpful and willing to chit chat making you feel very welcome.
We have tried other places but none compare-hope to camp here for years to come!
Beautifull and affordable RV hook-up between the redwood trees with swimming pool for the kids. My wife left her purse and just after leaving we received an email to notify us. Because we were already far away the lady was willing to mail it to our final destination without asking anything for it besides paying the delivery service! Wat a great service, bless her!
Smithwoods charges $20 per car should you have any guests visit you while camping. During our visits over the years we have diligently paid this fee. On our last visit two weeks ago my guest was not only charged $20 for his vehicle, but also $5 per person in the vehicle, no matter the age. New "policy" that I discussed with office staff. Very uncomfortable conversation. No more Smithwoods for us - Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Park now has our business.
