From Riverton, WV, take US Rt. 33 south 2 miles to Briery Gap Rd. (County Rt. 33/4 at Gateway General Store). Turn onto Briery Gap Rd. and go 2 miles to Forest Rt. 112. Proceed on Rt. 112 for 13.5 miles to campground.
Very nice camping ground and great view from the lake, especially for star gazing.
No entrance ticket needed, you can drive to the campsite, if it is vacant, you can claim it and you can find manager to register at the entrance of the camp circle.
Walk up site is actually even better if you don't have much equipments. It have more distance to other sites. You can just park the car at the entrance of the walk up site, so just few stairs from car to camp site.
Camp ground gate is not closed at night, you can still drive to the lake, about 3min driving or 10min walking. There are parking space at the lake.
Some fishing decks at north&south of the lake, great for fishing in daytime or star gazing at night.
One of the best campgrounds I've ever had the pleasure of staying at. We rolled up late without reservations to find we had to pay for a spot, which was a first for us. Only paid $16 for a drive up campground overnight for 2 people. Not bad. We got to hang out with and meet the campground manager. The dude used to play guitar for Willie Nelson so needless to say he was super chill. He told us the grounds weren't packed that night but that the next weekend it was booked up, so it's worth reserving your spot during leaf viewing season. They've got great campfire pits made for cooking, which was perfect for us. The bathrooms were the cleanest I've ever seen, had full rolls of TP, and actually smelled good. No running water of course. Highlight is the reflection on the lake, especially on a clear night. Star gazing is a must. I highly recommend this campground if you're staying in the Spruce Knob / Seneca Rocks area

Had site 20. It was fantastic! Bathrooms were clean with plenty of hand san/TP, and close to sites. While driving we saw a medium size black bear crossing the gravel road about 8 miles from camp. My first sighting!
Very nice campground. The sites are far enough apart that you don’t have to stare at your neighbors. Sites were all clean but could have used some trimming of the grass and some tree limbs. The site we stayed at had a limb hanging low which provided privacy but made parking a little awkward. The sites are within walking distance to the lake which was not busy when we stayed. The lady at the front was helpful for picking spots and providing firewood. I can see myself staying here again in the future. Probably one of the nicest primitive campgrounds I have seen.
This is a super quiet camp ground. There are so many trees and shady camping spots. The bathrooms are super clean. There is water supply which you need to boil but no showers. The best of all is the location and a small lake, hiking trails. We loved the most of it the peacefulness of the place.
