I absolutely recommend this campground! The sites aren’t too close together but they do have sites specifically for two parties to camp next to each other. We stayed at #12 site and across from us was a trail leading to a perfect swim area. They also have 2 boat landings which are perfect for canoes, and kayaks. There was two beautiful waterfalls with a pathway leading from the road to it. There’s a small museum just down the road which was very interesting and had lots of information about the area. This museum also has trails to hike on. Overall I highly recommend Trails End because of its secluded area. We will be back again! :)
Nice little campground at the end of the Gunflint Trail. Many sites have a view of the Boundary Waters. No electricity, but surprisingly a tiny bit of phone connectivity. Vault toilets are clean. Get firewood and supplies at nearby Way of the Wilderness.
Awesome Campground. The toilets were super clean. We reserved site 6, but it was SUPER SUPER close to site 5. Our 2nd night we ended up moving down to site 7 as it was empty at sunset, and a FF site. Definitely will stay again. Quite a few access points to go down and sit at the lake. No bears, just some poo and a lot of grouse, like a LOT!!
The best camping experience I’ve ever had. Great campground with the best views. We were at site #16 and have zero complaints. We wish would have stayed longer! . The photos DO NOT DO IT JUSTICE…. Highly recommend for anyone looking to camp in the north woods.
The views of the lake were fantastic. It got super dark which was great. No generators allowed so it was sooooo quite when we slept. There was a near by spillway so the kids enjoyed playing in there. We were at site 006.
