We were there for the first time and the property itself is absolutely gorgeous. The owner was wonderful as well. Friendly, clean, lots of space for the kid and all around perfect. Can’t wait to go back!

Unbelievably quiet, wonderful to get away from civilization and be able to look up at the stars and not have to worry about neighbors. The remoteness of the location makes it more enjoyable. No highway noise or airplane overhead. πŸ‘

Clean and quiet campground. Camping sites are large, electric and non electric available. We did not use the on site showers, however they appeared very nice, clean and well lit. Campground owners are wonderful folks. This campground is off the beaten path with hiking available.

Clean and quiet campground. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely camp here again if we are back in the area. The power was good (no low voltage or spikes. No water at the site but there is good clean water available to fill your tank. The showers were clean and plenty of hot water. Very family friendly with a nice big play area for children.

Thank you so much Barb and Pete! We had such a memorable experience this past weekend at Big Woods Campground! We are all already talking about coming back next year!

First, we were able to reserve all 15 sites (14 are electrical), since we had a relatively large group. We had a lot of questions, and Barb was very prompt in responding!

When we first arrived, we were very impressed with how clean the bathrooms were, including the outhouses. They had 2 outhouses, 2 flushable toilets and 2 pay-by-Quarter to shower, also a port-a-potty on the other end of the campsite. Barb and Pete came by once or twice a day to clean the bathrooms, fill the toilet paper, and refill our firewood ($5/bundle).

Because we reserved the whole campsite, we were able to utilize the picnic shelter. It was really useful because we had a rainy Saturday morning. My only suggestion would be to possibly have a large fire pit by the shelter.

The phone service isn't great. Mainly AT&T had service. But that was a blessing because everyone was off electronics and were able to spend quality time together!

We highly recommend camping at Big Woods Campground! It's 2 hours from the Twin Cities, far enough for an escape, and not too dragging of a drive home.
