From town: Go 1 mi E off US-23.
I'm not gonna share the site number because it's a good one and I want to keep it a gem but if you happen upon this site with direct beach access beware of the resident raccoons be sure to spread some cold ash from the fire pit as a deterrent. They come from all directions. Be careful walking the road. Some people don't follow the 10 mph sign and go 40...
If you're heading into town, stop at Connie's Cafe for some cookies. Put them on the side of the fire ring to warm up. Easy little campfire treat! Use one as a smore sandwich!!
Lovely state campground right on Lake Huron. Roughly 10 miles south of Alpena just off 23. Enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. Site 13 looked like the best bet FYI, trail leads right to the beach.
Beautiful place but DEFINITELY not a place to go if you are a traditional camper who likes to laugh, sing around the fire or whisper after 10pm. Host is like a warden at a maximum security prison!! Beware!
I camped with friends and had a wonderful and peaceful experience. A rustic campground with decent bathrooms and trash dumpster. Located on beautiful Lake Huron.
Beautiful. Well maintained. Campground host is visible and helpful. I felt safe even though the campground is off the main road quite a ways. Sites are spacious and most are on the water.
