Camped here for the first time and had a very enjoyable weekend. Campground was full when we arrived and I was afraid it was going to be loud and crowded, instead it was a peaceful weekend. Bathrooms were well maintained and the showers were very nice with lots of hot water.
We stopped to check the temperature of Lake Superior in July. Newsflash: it’s still cold 😁 We only walked up and down the beach a bit, but what we saw was very nice - classic UP beach. Seemed like a great place to spend the day and even swim - once you got used to the temp!
I have camped at Brimley for two years now and love it. I always get a spot along the beach that way I have my own private path to the water.
This year we did have someone steal our alcohol from our site. Guard shack people told us it’s locals walking up the beach. So make sure you have things locked away when your not at your site.
Lots of things to go see and do within two hours or less of the park.
Very nice restrooms and showers. I have always been able to have a hot shower no mater the time of day.
Loved site 55! Our friends truck battery went dead, they called ranger station and they came down with a jump box. The next day same ranger stopped by to make sure our friends truck started. Will camp here again in the near future.
Great visit to take a polar plunge! Lake temps were 38F and whoooooh cold. But, we managed to take a dip...the water was incredibly clear and the park itself was great. Facilities were shut down for the season, but we will be back for a visit when in season.
