God's Miracle at work. Awesome time. Quite and clean. Clean bathrooms and showers. Firepits, grills, playground and basketball court with net. People on jetskis, boats, fishing and swimming. Love this park and lake.

4 stars instead of 5 because so many people use open style, loud generators. No rule against it and campers respect quiet hours, but the noise is annoying. Otherwise 5 stars. Very clean, well taken care of by rangers and hosts. I stayed in the Mesquite Loop. Water available, no electric, large, mostly flat sites, each site has a covered picnic table and fire ring. The host even picks up your trash every day! Plenty of spots for primitive camping at the lake shore. Double dump station near park exit (room for 2 RVs at the same time). Ft Sumner is a nice town with decent prices on gas and diesel. Definitely a great campground and would recommend.

Very beautiful and peaceful state park near Ft. Sumner, NM. In the center of it all is a large lake that you're able to view from all angles, including from the water as there are boat ramps. There are many campgrounds, divided between the east and west campgrounds, that are on either side of Lake Sumner. They have grills and campfire spots and park benches, and many have canopies. There's camping and rv parking spots throughout the park as well. There's trails for hiking, fishing, playground, basketball court, among other amenities. You can spot wildlife all over and there are areas with tons of dragonflies near the dam. There's also a dam that you get to drive across. There are self pay spots before entering different areas. I loved it here and will definitely be back.
