Very beautiful and peaceful state park near Ft. Sumner, NM. In the center of it all is a large lake that you're able to view from all angles, including from the water as there are boat ramps. There are many campgrounds, divided between the east and west campgrounds, that are on either side of Lake Sumner. They have grills and campfire spots and park benches, and many have canopies. There's camping and rv parking spots throughout the park as well. There's trails for hiking, fishing, playground, basketball court, among other amenities. You can spot wildlife all over and there are areas with tons of dragonflies near the dam. There's also a dam that you get to drive across. There are self pay spots before entering different areas. I loved it here and will definitely be back.
Drove thru Borger Texas and was surprised to see such a nice park! There's paved walking trails that run throughout the park. There's a neat little bird sanctuary kinda in the middle with all sorts of different kinds of birds, never seen something like that at a simple park. Thought it was cool. There's also a big memorial for the 9/11 attacks, with descriptions of what happened that day and to pay respects to those who were lost. There's a library box and a volleyball net over sand as well. Also a big pavalion with plenty of picnic tables. There was some construction going on , which I assume is for a new playground, not sure. Love this park, thank you Borger!
