Unfortunately when I visited they were closed due to flooding. However I drove all the way up and back down to at least enjoy the scenery. It is one of the most beautiful spots I've ever been to. I will definitely be making trips back here

In the summertime it's refreshing to go to the Pecos and through out the seasons, it's a nice place to get away. Mountains, tall trees... another entrance to the Santa Fe National Forest. I haven't seen too much wildlife there but I did see a Mole once as well as Steller's Jays. There is some fishing areas, and camping or picnic areas. And some dirt roads that venture up as well, one could easily spend half a day to a full day out if you felt adventurous enough. Picture included from previous season.
