No RV/campers, only 4x4 vehicles. Winter or after rain not advised. Has picnic tables and fire pits, as well as an outhouse. 4 sites very off the beaten path.

Nice quiet campground in the back country. 4x4 only, the roads are rugged. Don't recommend going during rainy season as the road turns into a stream.

One of my favorite hidden gems! There are no frills here...just 4 camp sites and a pit toilet in an isolated setting. No water. Pack in-pack out. The drive up to the camp ground is rough and narrow with some hair-pin turns (and spectacular views!), but it is passable (we have an old Honda CRV AWD and pull a small trailer)...just don't plan on getting there fast. I would not recommend trying the road with an RV. The camp sites are spacious, mostly flat, and provide a lovely view of the mountainside. At about 8500 ft MSL elevation, it is cool up there! August nights are very comfortable; by September, the nights are chilly. There are plenty of hiking trails and old forest-service roads to explore and even a near-by geocache (if you do that).

Very remote which is nice, however the last mile of road is not kept up very well and usually washed out. So you definitely need four-wheel drive. And if it has been raining the day before, you most definitely will get stuck and one of the invisible quicksand areas in the middle of the road. If you do, District Rangers will not get you out, or call someone for help for you. But they will check on you to make sure you're not dead (yet) every couple days. So thats good...

A real hidden gem, I came out here mid July and the place was filled with butterflies. The night was still a bit chilly but the day time temp is perfect. You will need a vehicle with high clearance and I'd recommend it have AWD or 4wd but don't think it's necessary. There is 4 picnic tables but can hold much more with the large meadow had a simple outhouse with a boys and girls side it did have toilet paper, no water or anything like that it's a simple campground pack it in pack it out. The walk up the bear trap canyon is really beautiful. If you're looking for a nice remote spot to camp for a couple of days I highly recommend.
